  1. Well, the internet is a creepy place, filled with all kinds of weirdos. Some may sound profound, but can also be driven by questionable motives. Maybe that's just his objection. On the other hand, those weirdos on the web come from the RealLife! Be open-minded, but sceptic. Have refference from many different sources. Don't take things for granted and don't be objected by just one bad critique. Ponder before wonder.
  2. Er... hmm... well... yes. No. What was the question? :D If you're talking about what i think you do, then my friend, you're on the right way. (Or on drugs?) You may have the chance to understand the true nature of reality.
  3. About chewing gum: I know that chewing makes the brain get more oxygen, though i don't know the exact mechanisms behind that. I assume it's the muscle activity forcing more blood being transported towards the head.
  4. Define status quo. You're right, it has always been going on, no matter what the universe threw at earth. Some species got extinct in the process, but pfrt, eh... so what? Who wants Status Quo, right? I don't want to live forever, either! Wait... yes i do. I'll be one of the first Cyborg prototypes as soon as they need human ginea pigs. Er... aha: So, the "Status Quo" we live in should stay, in my opinion. Not for too long, of course. I meant "fragile" as in "it has buffers, but when they are supersaturated, the whole system is going down at lightspeed! Severe, man! SEVERE!!!"... get my drift?
  5. Could somebody tell me the formula for pi and explain it?
  6. Fish can sense electrical charges and hide on the ground when there's a lightning about to charge up.
  7. Hello, noto! I second Rocket Man. I've been investigating which food is beneficial and which is disadvantageous for my concentration. I discovered i can't eat/drink alcohol, cocoa, coffee, flour, meat, milk and nuts, while lettuce and watermelons are very good. Omega-3 fatty acids are good for memory. Fortunately, i can eat fish. I also like pen spinning to focus my mind and exercise my fingers. I even noticed online shooters (like the free Nexuiz) when played at reasonable doses (1 hour max!) can enhance eye-hand coordination. Have fun!
  8. http://www.liu.edu/cwis/cwp/library/exhibits/panda/panda.htm - weird animals The ecological system is very fragile, but we don't always see the results immediately. Remember: Cause and action. Of course, it's almost impossible to say what's best (for us and the rest).
  9. Things are only "mystical" until we find a way to explain them. Yeah, but the effects vanish when the pyramid is off the magnetic poles. Would a cone work aswell? I'll have to check that.

    aliens

Imagine you're an alien scientist: I for one find ants extraordinarily interesting and am humble enough to know there may be things to learn from them. So, i'd observe them from a respective distance, because some ant species have a painful bite or sting. They might even see me, but they will ignore me, because i'm such an abstract subject. But i simply do not believe in alien life.
  11. I agree that we shouldn't extinct species, but i'm against putting animals over people like some fanatics do. I also believe extincting species give room to new species.
  12. They target to influence your perception, using common frights, worries, preferences and desires. Colours, sounds and scents are used to make you feel good or bad, depending on the subject and desired effect. Doesn't sound harmless to me. I don't want to start sounding like paranoia, so, do your own researches if you're interested.
  13. I've been thinking about it and tried it myself, but it seems the more i get exposed to certain things the greater the effect. Maybe the doses were too high. At least, it worked with water. Edit: But it's interesting. My senses of smell and taste are incredible! I can distinguish between the smallest amounts of ingredients and i can tell if something is good for me or not, but it's also a drawback as you can imagine.

    formaldehyde

Anyone? Otherwise i'd have the problem of disposing it.
  15. In progress. Anjruu, antidepressants usually restrain all perception in general. That's what i experienced and what i heard from others. So, empathy is also affected by that. It's not really a 'fix', it's more like an engine speed limiter.
  16. Nice idea. On the contrary, without the "distraction" of such "easy" polymorphic and strong materials like metal, people might have concentrated on ceramics or plastics, which could have launched them faster into sophisticated technology. :D
  17. I am a forced vegetarian / vegan. I can't eat meat, animal products (milk products, eggs, gelatine, etc.), flour and nuts, because it makes me sick, sleepy and slow in the head and most of it tastes horrible (meat, eggs, gelatine, nuts). Oddly, fish is somewhat okay. The doctors i've been to said it's in my head. Well... maybe. I'm investigating. Unfortunately, i can't keep my hands off pizza with lots of cheese. My day starts with veggies like a lettuce or cucumber, fruits for lunch and often ends with that darn tasty pizza. Inbetween alot of honeyd water. Been thinking about supplements, but i doubt they'd keep me from pizza. My blood has always been "great", except for a short period of "a little low" iron. Question: Do cucumbers have the same stuff spinach and sorrel have?
  18. EVERYTHING depends! There are ads that SUPPORT smoking, so... Damn that Marlboro Man! ...Aw, i can't be mad at him.
  19. I already thought "Paradise!" when i read your post in the buddhism thread. I wanted to go to America since i was a child, but my 'recent studies' (many years of tv and internets) opened my eyes to Americas downsides. A place like yours would make the transition MUCH easier!
  20. interesting... I need at least 80° F to feel comfortable, even though i was born in poland.
  21. Thanks. Do you have Home or Pro?
  22. Do you believe (know) that certain advertisements and commercials can have negative effects on social behaviour?
  23. Kinda makes sense. Tho, i still believe when something tries to avoid certain experiences it can feel fright, pain, suffering.
  24. (Thank you . At least some tidying would be nice. Not that i mind it, but this doesn't make much sense to me: laugh, tough, through... you get my point. Two examples with a weird combo that almost sounds like "F" and one where the last two letters are totally idle! In germany, we tried changing from the "ß" (ss-sound, looks almost like a "B") character to simply "ss", which is pronounced the same. That was in '96. We're still at it.
  25. I didn't exactly choose to live here. Could anyone recommend some nice place? England would be too cold.
