  1. The proper fashion? What do you mean? Which us are you talking about?
  2. If they had? Does that mean that you don't know whether they did or they didn't? But you're certain about some aspect of their mathematics. What aspect would that be?
  3. So no one before Newton had thought of the concept?
  4. Try to be more specific.
  5. I want to know how the light that enters the eye (as physics would have it) gets converted into an experience of the outside world.
  6. Entirely? So what was Newton thinking when he wrote about Absolute space?
  7. Thanks. I realise now that my question ends there because this is a physics forum and the rest of the explanation belongs in some other forum.
  8. Thanks for the link to the Maths site. I shall explore it when I have the time.
  9. I get Real World >>> Light >>> Camera >>> Electric Signal >>>Radio Wave >>> TV >>>> Light but the last bit >>> Real World(Your eyes) how does that work?
  10. Would that mean the assumed inherent randomness in the quantum description?
  11. So in geometrical terms is it a tangent type thing - gradient of 3-D surface? And at a fundamental level what is the potential energy relative to?
  12. Can you explain further? It sounds a bit esoteric.
  13. Would you? What IYHO is the chief feature of this incompatibility?
  14. I agree. Might it have something to do with gravity working in one direction only ?
  15. Maybe there are varieties of singularities like there are of infinities. I expect somebody will drive themself mad trying to figure it out.
  16. Or possibly a definition of relative notions.
  17. But if I replace it with say 100 then wouldn't it be true to say that 01. would be closer to the value of the instant which after all you originally said was INYHO 1/infinity?
  18. How does the existence of forces between particles allow the energy of a system to change?
  19. Newton wouldn't entirely agree with you. He wrote Absolute space, in its own nature, without relation to anything external, remains always similar and immovable.
  20. OK. If I change the word 'energy' into ? then that's answered my question. Thanks.
  21. Mart

    Beta Decay.

That's fine. Just testing the waters.
  22. That sounds interesting. Do you have a source? It'll save me hunting round for it.
