  1. d'oh! ...I'm glad we have smart people here...
  2. the kid does have a few good points... but there is an easy way that one can grow up as a healthy child (playing with other children) and still have room to advance intellectually as such that he has done, it just doesn't happen very often... the kid looks like my brother oddly enough...O_o...right down to the melonhead
  3. a lot of the girls I know are more interested in going out or hanging out or dressing up (I know several that post online in forums, at deviantart is a good place but there are 1,000,000+ members...we'll have to work on that..) or something else like that than actually participating in science the most active girls in science that I know right now is either my sister or my friend, and neither of them are very interested in it (they're getting there, I'm working on it;))

    young adults

mutual respect is something that works for me.... although I DO listen to people older than 21, I can't seem to learn anything from anyone under the age of around 30 anymore:p most kids won't do that, they're not interested in learning, they just want to do something to see what happens with it, my suggestion is let them play it out and make mistakes (*note that if they want to test something like what would happen if I set my hair on fire after a good dousing of hair spray....that would be a good intervening time..)

  6. hm...my extended absence has caused me to fail to reply to this thread as of yet... so I'll do it now^_^ I am Kris Akerlund from Moses Lake, Washington (as if any of you have heard of the place) and am 17 years old, I'll turn 18 April 29 though... in high school taking an english 12 class (I missed 9 days of school, came back and I'm still ahead of the rest of the class...I hate it), college anatomy and physiology, I am trying to get through the last four chapters of CISCO semester 4 to take the CCNA exam before I graduate, and AP Chemistry, all three of the latter of which are taken with cooperation through Big Bend Community College (don't ask) much fun I hope to graduate this year and take a course in Game Art and Design and bring honor back to the gaming communities^_^

    omg.

..this...thread is disturbing.... why on earth would you put sayonara's icon as a smilie? ....an evil dancing banana has no place in a scientific community...probably...
  8. O_o using other peoples' brains for a bomb? that wouldn't be very smart now would it;)
  9. it could be...if it were lazy... sleep is the bodies time for recharging everything it's used up over the day and such like, repairing stuff and things like that, you know^_^ I'll let blike or faf or someone else who knows better explain it..
  10. hmmm....you know they do say 6-8 hours of sleep a night..but I can't get more than 4-5 if I tried:-p *GASP* maybe I'm abnormal.... don't say it...
  11. oh no no, I agree wholeheartedly that american education is spiraling downward, my first, second, third and fourth period classes are all great examples of that (I've only got a four period day) just making it clear that sometimes students can be inspired to learn more^_^ (probably from individual teachers)
  12. AGH!! I forgot all about this thread...sorry...umm...I'll check this in tomorrow^_^ how about that!? not sure I'll know it all though...blike or faf? ed?O_o anyone? I'll be back:cool:
  13. hmm... well, ever since I was tiny I wanted to know more about everything, and anything about everything and just basically wanted more knowledge into my little cranium..up until 6 grade I wanted to be a scientist of some sort, then it turned to chemist, then astronomer and now finally game designer....either that or a chemist...or maybe a network engineer...not sure anymore:D
  14. I doubt it, there would be some complete idiot who would pass it somehow..there always will be.... "you can never make something truly fool-proof, for they will always make a better fool"
  15. I'm thinking, first title, second subtitle... however, I must disagree with the subject matter in the fact that I went to public schools, I will agree that everyone else is stupid, HOWEVER!! there must be at least two kids at each school like that^_^

  18. right, for addition and subtraction I round the numbers to the nearest ten and add the ones up and add them all together:D

  20. you guys aren't helping much:rolleyes: it doesn't matter to me^_^ I have no intention of posting on those boards, I'd never heard of them till yesterday...who cares...
  21. right, linux and unix are both superb OS's and I'm guessing that Lindows will be too, since a few of my more nerdier friends seem to love it;)
