This is absolutely brilliant. I have a book at home that is filled with little mental tricks on how to do math quickly in your brain, including the "pneumonic" method; some of the tricks are laughably easy (but impressive to those who are unsuspecting) and some take a LOT of practice. I am not even remotely close to anything even SIMILAR to what this guy does. It's absolutely amazing! I figured you guys would enjoy it too. I'm writing about some nutritional issues and searching for some research on the macronutrient content (protein/fat/carbohydrate) of wild fruits so I can compare them to commercially grown fruits. This is a homework questions I've spent a lot of time trying to solve and I am not sure if I am doing it right. Here is the question: A triangular prism has a base defined by the points (1,3,0), (3,-4,0) and (-2,1,0). The prism has a slant height given by the vector (2,3,7). Determine the volume of this prism. So far I've gotten three answers doing this questions three different ways (using dot product, cross product, cosine law, etc.): 98.43 units3 160 units3 92.14 units3 Can someone please explain to me how I can solve this problem? Hi I have a question between math and computer science. What I want to do is write some tool that recognizes what is encryption algorithm of cipher text. I want to do it using support vector machine. I found article about representation of encrypted file as a 10 features vector, but I have problem with calculate it. I would be very grateful if somebody helped me how to do this. I have recently been studying algebra and came across this which didn't make sense - a(squared) + 1 / a + 1 and stated that it could not be simplified any further due to lack of common factors... however, can't the denominator 'a' be taken away from the numerator 'a(squared)', therefore just leaving 'a' with the two 1s being cancelled. Or is simplification (of algebraic expressions) different to solving them..

I know that the area of an ellipse is: Pi x Semimajor x Semiminor But after quite a long time of figuring, i thought, why can't we just treat the ellipse as a circle by hypothetically shortening the semimajor and lengthening the semiminor to the same length (averaging them) and then using Pi x Radius2 I know they give different answers, but i don't see why my way is wrong. I know that it is, but i would like someone to prove to me that it isn't, and prove to me that Pi x ab is thanks once again
