Hi guys I am trying to understand and make sense of a report i have to write up, but am close to tearing my hair out, so hopefully someone will be able to help me Basically, it is about protein separation using gel-electrophoresis in order to examine antibody specificity. The substances used were: Bovine serum, anti-bovine serum, bovine IgG and anti-bovine IgG. Which out of the these is the antigen and which are the antibodies? Hope you are able to make it a little clearer for me Thanks Anna

Hey guys, In the figure above, ABC and APQ are two triangles such that PQ is parallel to BC. Given that BP = 2cm, CQ = 4cm, BC = 6cm and PQ:BC = 1:3. Find (a) angle of BAC (b) the ratio of the area of [math] \Delta APQ [/math] to the area of trapezium BCQP. for (a). Well, I'm assumed that AP:AB = 1:3 = AQ:QC beforehand, but the calculation doesn't work out. (Answer = 75"31') and what I learn on this chapter is sine rule, cosine rule, and area of triangle based on these rule. so, can anyone give some hint about the trick behind this question because non of the method given can be used! thnx.

  4. I need research materials on areas of computer security and privacy that have not been research and a nod towards were i can get materials. In today's rapidly changing world, security is of great concern. Companies change, undergo mergers and make acquisitions, and their information infrastructure becomes virtual. People are becoming increasingly mobile, employees work remotely from anywhere in the world, and devices are increasingly interconnected. Security technology must respond to these changes. It is no longer sufficient to guard against a single entrance to a trusted domain; rather, many and diverse connections from the untrusted outside world to the tru…

hello, a problem says http://www.flickr.com/photos/76599498@N07/6895404760/ I couldn't know how to start but that's what I did http://www.flickr.com/photos/76599498@N07/6895405486/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/76599498@N07/6895406078/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/76599498@N07/6895403992/ but I don't think this is the way , since I got the acceleration at a special point . I want to ask some questions 1-the acceleration magnitude is variable , due to the variation of the radius od curv. , isn't it ? If so , what is meant by determining the acceleration without specifing a certain moment ? 2- this problem is under the …

  6. The instantaneous configuration of a slider crank mechanism has a crank GH 10cm long, the connecting rod HP is 50cm. The crank makes an angle of 60 degree with the inner dead centre position and is rotating at 110 rev/min. Determine the velocity of the piston P and the angular velocity of the link HP. cannot find any simliar examples in text books or online which will help me with this question. Right, first off i've converted the 110rev/min=w into 11.5Rads/s so w=11.5Rads/s i then assumed you had to find the velocity at H in order to find the velocity at P so Velocity at H = (Wgh) X gh Vh = 11.5rads/s X 0.1m = 1.15ms^-1 dont know whether that is correct…

I'm doing research on Circadian Rythyms. I'm working on a theory that involves genetic manipulation. I don't know enough to ask the right question so please feel free to help me rephrase. Basically I'd like to know if you can affect genetic switches and turn them on and off over generations by, lets say, surgically altering the body. For example. Lets pretend that the earlobe produces testosterone, which of course it doesn't. But what if it did and lets say that a tribal group figured out that if they lopped off the earlobe members of the tribe exhibited different behavior. This might become a religious custom and over many generations I am interested in kn…

This exercise is from chapter 5 of A Book Of Abstract Algebra. I've been studying this book by reading, so this is not homework. Please help. Here is my attempt: If C' is a subgroup, [math](abx)^{2}=(xab)^{2}[/math] and [math](a^{-1}x)^{2}=(xa^{-1})^{2}[/math] for every [math]a[/math] and [math]b[/math] in [math]C'[/math]. It is obvious that [math]Z(G)[/math] is included in [math]C'[/math]. If we have a group [math]K=\{a,b \in K: a=a^{-1}, ab \neq ba \}[/math], then [math]Z(K)=\emptyset[/math] even though [math](ab)^{2}=(ba)^{2}[/math] for every element in [math]K[/math]. Thus [math]C'[/math] is not necessarily Abelian.

My professor offered us an extra credit question. He said it would be difficult and might not even be worth doing...any help with this question would be great! Here it is... Why does the cell synthesize dUTP in order to synthesize TTP when dUTP can be incorporated into and damage DNA? Here are some points to consider: 1. There is an alternate pathway in which dCDP is converted to dCMP then dUMP then TTP in which case dUTP could be avoided 2. Why isn't there a similar pathway for dUDP to dUMP to TTP? 3.Synthesis of dUTP may be needed by the cell. In what way? 4. What is the function of dUTPase and what does that provide beyond reducing the concentration o…

  16. Hi I'm a little puzzled with the following scenario: Two parents 1 & 2 of genotypes (Aa) and (aa) are crossed to producedan F1. Sequencing and assembly is carried out on the genomic dna from two poolsof 1 & 2 progeny. Bioinformatic approaches will establish allelic variants uniquelyassociated with the dominant A allele. Earlier alignment of the parents sequenced genomic DNA to a reference sequence identified polymorphisms between A and a. What I don't understand is why in the scenario above is the identification of polymorphisms only in the dominant A allele. Why is it even necessary to cross to produce F1 progeny (we have already attem…

Hello at this problem the car is moving around the circle with constant speed , and it is asking for d^2R/dt^2 for the radar And d^2(theta)/dt^2 for the radar at the instance the speed of car is vertical downwards as shown the speed equals 120 km/hour And the radius of the circle is 450 so I said a® = (d^2R/dt^2) - R (omega^2) but the only acceleration is the central which equals (v^2/ Radius) and in the same direction so we can get d^2R/dt^2 . and when I try to get the (alpha)(d^2 theta / d t^2) a (theta) = R*(alpha) + 2 (omega)* (dR/dt) and a(theta) equals zero and here …

  22. I undertook a practical experiment where a back titration was used to determine the amount of nitrogen in fertiliser. My titres are 3.9, 3.7 and 4.2 So I know this reaction occurred: NH4+ + OH- ---> NH3 +H2O I then boiled the solution to expel the Ammonia which means the excess OH- ions were titrated against 0.1 M HCl. I think? NaOH- +HCl ---> NaCl +H2O Is this equation correct? If so are the following calculations correct too? n (HCl)= 0.1 x 0.0039 n(HCl)=0.0039 If this calculation is correct, what do I have to do next?

I don't even know if it exists, as I can't find anything in the textbook. I know it must follow the same shape as a log graph would because it asks you to do this after sketching the second graph: If the cycle starts at midnight Sunday, what day(s) will the temperature of the pool be more than 24.5 degrees celcius?
