A fractal universe?

There have been fractal universe models proposed the problem with them is that they are not Lorentz invariant. This is a major problem for fractal based models.

 

"Despite the beautiful physics emerging from the HL picture, inspired by critical and condensed-matter systems, it potentially suffers from at least one major problem. Lorentz invariance, one of the best constrained symmetries of Nature, is surrendered at fundamental level."

due to the Lorentz invariance constraints this model is largely not well considered as well as the problems mentioned in this paper
