amine.ahd
So, I am working as an Embedded software Engineer. Embedded systems typically are seen as a small computer that can programmed to do a specific task just like a router for example or a smart phone but many universities put Embedded systems under Electrical Engineering because of the hardware part. What do you think?
fiveworlds
I know that many computer science courses do have the embedded systems aspect. With many computer science courses specifying into various different areas depending on what you wanted to do. I don't think it would include how to make an electric cooker etc.
John Cuthber
Today's "embedded systems" are more powerful than the "computers" I used at school when I learned computer science. I also think that, if you miss out the hardware side, you are not teaching computer science; you are teaching a software course.
