Fav sci fi author?

Just curious to everyone's. Mines by far Stephen Baxter, although A.C Clarke is of course up there.

Larry Niven- Ringworld/Ringworld Engineers

Wiliam Gibson- Neuromancer

Frank Herbert- Dune

Orson Scott Card- Ender's Game

Those are my favorite books (in no particular order). Rendezvous with Rama by Arthur C Clarke was also good, but it just doesn't strike the same chord as these other books. I actually just finished Rama 2, and found it to be horribly dissapointing.

Was DUne good. I have it, but I've never got around to reading it. Is it worth it?

Douglas Adams.

Arthur C. Clarke.

And Dune was alright. . . well, actually, it was great. But it is still overrated, in my opinion.

Robert A. Heinlein, for my favourite novel (Stranger in a Strange Land) and my favourite short story (The Long Watch).

Arthur C. Clarke and 2001:A space odyssey, Dune was good too.

isac asimov... classic stuff.

I wanted to get hold of the andromeda strain but can't get it anywhere. i guess i have to buy it.

I found my copy in a used book store. It's in pretty good condition too. Unfortunately some parts are a tad unbelievable, but on the whole a good read.

i can't remember what book i read by michael crichton.... it was something about an alien virus which ate humans from inside out turning them into rubbish.... it basically happens is a ship, where they are performing experiments, but due to the lack of gravity, strange form of things leak into the sthip.....

Dan Simmons - Hyperion, Fall of Hyperion, Endymion, Rise of Endymion

I haven't realy alot of science fiction (or much fiction, in any case), but I liked The Chrysalids by John Wyndham and Nemesis (although juging by the comments on Amazon, it not that popluar...) by Issac Asmiov. I didn't finish Dune or I, Robot maybe I read it some time.

For classic stuff I'd have to go with Asimov, inparticular the

'foundation' sieries and Bicentennial man(the book that is).

Yeah...the chrysalids is good, but my favourite is stranger in a strange land, closely followed by hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy.

Isaac Asimov- Foundation Series

David Brin-Earth

Orson Scott Card-Ender's Game

Iain M. Banks- Player of Games

Frank Herbert-Dune

Starship Troopers - Robert A. Heinlein

The best!
