I think the amount of crap orbiting our planet is enough warning to not investigate any further.

Perhaps they will be missionaries trying to convert us to a religion based on a green skinned, one eyed god that looks just like them.

I'm willing to bet any species intelligent enough to leave their home planet has dropped religion and its conflicting ways.
