any where in the UK that sell chemicals?

Featured Replies

Yeah that £50 thing sucks. I can only imagine what the HazMat and other shipping costs are to Finland.

plus they sell ethanol gel fuel, if anybody knows how to get pure ethanol out of them then you can get them there as well for £5.00

sweet nice find

i have just thought of something is it possible to turn gel ethanol back into its original state ie not a gel

  • Author

maybe add water then stil?

Chances are, the gel ethanol contains some other "not so pleasent" chemicals in there to prevent people from making drinking alcohol out of it. Like if you try and buy ethanol from a chemical supplier, it will generally be denatured with other nasty things like methanol and whatnot in order to make it undrinkable. (If you need absolutely pure ethanol, you need to get a license and state that you're not buying it for drinking).

Or get some vodka and still that,

"it will generally be denatured with other nasty things like methanol and whatnot in order to make it undrinkable."

Yeah that sucks, for the hobos that is. :) Btw, it's illegal to use methanol to denaturate ethanol (at least in Finland).

i have remembered another chemical place heres the link its all the chemicals used for photography http://www.silverprint.co.uk go to raw chemicals they have quit alot of chemicals there

  • Author

does anybody know any pottery suppliers online because they sell alot of interesting chemicals quite cheaply eg. one i know of is 500g of CuO for a few pounds or 500g of 250-300 mesh aluminium for £9.30 including P&P

Pottery suppliers sell aluminum powder? Hmm... :)

where do people buy there aluminium powder from all i have found is one pottery supplier and one fiberglass supplier the fiberglass one does not use that fine of mesh so it is quite useless so i need to find some more suppliers in england any will do

if you PM me i can tell you about someone who sells Al powder (50 micron)

really cheap

can you still buy household ammonia or have they stoped selling if you can buy it what brand does it come under

well im a few months off besides my grandpa would get it for me if i carnt get it, where can you get it from then if you have to be 18 to buy it

Well, I'm glad the law isn't a problem for you. Ammonia is a main component in cleaning supplies, so a cleaning supplies company would have some. Or B & Q. Whatever.
