Ok I understand that they are all linked. But my partner come out of his bio classes confused and we always have different ideas when it comes to science so.. On what basis.. What is the use of them, I know DNA but im lost with tRNA and mRNA now that my partner has told me loads of crap

Then start with defining each RNA species in your own words and we will try to sort things out. Alternatively you can take a look at e.g. wikipedia. I believe for basic things the articles are generally pretty accurate.
