Making a space gate?

Have many scientists thought about making a space gate?

Something that looks like this:

So, how about this...

We mock the way a black hole works, control its suction and speed, and setup an artificial black hole that sucks up a ship, but lets it go, thus propelling it enough to reach a distance.

Another idea I had was if we could combine two of those, have them link up, and then have them create a vacuum to make the object pass through the tunnel almost as fast as light.

It'd be so much easier to just slingshot around a star or other large mass.

heck, slingshot around a black hole and you problably could go lightspeed.

tho a small speck would destroy the ship and everything will appear distorted.

Why would we need it to create a vacuum if it is space based - or am I missing something?

Gravitational slingshots work as long as the object you slingshot around is moving. If it's merely very massive, you'll gain speed as you approach and lose that speed as you recede away.

It wouldn't even take a small speck to destroy the ship. Gravity gradient alone would do the trick. Google "spaghettification".
