I believe there are plants that are highly sought after for elaboration of medicines, extracts or complex compounds for research or production of much needed chemicals.

 

Could anyone name a few, please ?

1) Marijuana

2) Opium

3) Coca plants

 

Get the idea? Things that are somewhat illegal to possess and use in some countries without approval.
