I'm hoping this is the right forum for my question. I was reading that a VCR broadcasts the signal from the tape to the TV. If this is the case, what prevents two TVs in adjacent rooms running tapes from getting their signals scrambled, or one picking up the other's movie?

I was under the impression that the signal was sent through a cable; but I suppose if there were a cordless VCR it would use a different radio frequency.

It doesn't sound very efficient. I never heard or read of one and I don't know what the point would be. The advantage of a cable is it is shielded from interference.

By broadcasts I think they meant "sends"...almost all VCRs use cables..

Thanks for your replies. I read this over at howstuffworks section on television. They mentioned how an approx. 6MHz signal is transmitted from the VCR to the TV. But I guess I didn't realize that sending a signal over a cable means it cannot reach anywhere else.
