Mr Skeptic Posted November 17, 2008 Share Posted November 17, 2008 That is all well and good, but to have a proper cure would require that they can grow the marrow cells in vitro (cause otherwise you would have very very few donors), and you might need multiple different cell lines for compatibility with the immune system. On that note, if your transplant is the cells that make immune cells, and they are incompatible with you, does that mean that you will be eaten by your immune system?
