In 2012, Ron Paul will start stuttering from dementia like McCain is doing now, smiling overconfidently because he KNOWS he is the better man, but powerless to overcome his loss of eloquence.

Sadly, I think that's already started to happen this year, especially if you compare him to older vids from his '88 run.

Here's a question to Paul supporters... have you considered voting for constitution party's Chuck Baldwin, who Ron Paul has endorsed?

I don't know anything about Chuck Baldwin in particular but the constitution party has an ugly component I can never sign on to. I like the name and what it implies, but they have no issues legislating morality and doing so inconsistently.

They oppose euthanasia and abortion yet they're all for the death penalty. According to their Wiki entry:

The party also opposes government recognition of same-sex unions, and believes state and local governments have the right to criminalize "offensive sexual behavior".[24'] The party further opposes pornography, believing it to be, at worst, "a destructive element of society resulting in significant and real emotional, physical, spiritual and financial costs to individuals, families and communities,"

While expressing its belief in the individual responsibility of citizens and corporations, the party maintains that government plays a "vital role" in establishing and maintaining the highest level of decency in America's community standards.[25]

That's quite the investment in societal engineering and rolling back our progress in tolerance and liberating individuality. I'm weary of empowering an ideology like that.

However I do like their overall approach, or resistance maybe, of taxation. I like their small government, noninterventionist foreign policy, welfare and a portion of their immigration policy.

Anyway, the Paulites I work with, (all two of them), are pimping this dude and I'm still not sure either way. I prefer the libertarian antics of Barr, and am leaning toward a vote for him on Tuesday.

Pangloss - I know what you mean. I feel uncomfortable with Baldwin as well. I was planning on voting for Barr, but I got told off by a fellow Paulite that its a wasted vote anyway, so if I really want to vote how I feel, I should right in Paul's name. Also technically a wasted vote, but it sends a clearer message.

Maybe if the Libertarians were posed to get above that magic 15%... but Barr's only polling ~1% anyway. There are a few states like Montana where Paul is still on the ballot and is polling 5% (it would be ironic if he got more votes than he did in '88 which was half a million or so.
