DIY GloveBox

The cheapest glove box I have ever seen was essentially a plastic bag with attached gloves to manipulate stuff inside the bag. It was a French or Belgian manufacturer and still cost around 100 bucks. I have to search for it, though, if there is still need for it.

This sort of thing?

You might want to look at a sandblaster/ shotblaster. They are a lot more robust than the bags but cheaper than a proper glovebox.

hi thx for your reply,

the AtmosBag seem cool, but clearly seem very less robust than a true glovebox

(i dont find the price of this... and what the name of that kind of product ?)

and the sandblaster is really not what i'm looking for, is good for removing big dust, but it not change the all air inside the box, so i could remain tiny dust. in the box.

I could not find the manufacturer of the bags I was thinking of. I think I left the last package in my old institute.

Anyway, those tents are of course not as sturdy as "real" glove boxes, and their main use is often to create an anoxic atmosphere. To see the price you have to register with sigma-aldrich.

A selection of glove boxes can also be found at http://www.coleparmer.com/catalog/product_index.asp?cls=2035

If you buy glove bags you also have to buy some cotton gloves to avoid damage to the bag.

It is not trivial to completely remove dust completely (I am sometimes doing microfabrication, where dust really hurts) and often the bags and boxes are not that clean to begin with.

but like as we can see, this is not AirProof(is not the purpose of Sandblast cabinet) so did you think i can easly modify that sort of thing and making it AirProof ?

Thx people
