Bombard it with nuclei in a fusion reaction. It won't happen with chemical processes.

I'd like to add that even with nuclear fusion it's quite impractical in terms of energy if you want to make something heavy. Even iron fusion is endothermic (uses more energy than it releases) and gold is a lot heavier.

As said you need a very impractical fusion reaction. But what you are talking about is alchemy not chemistry. People have tried for hundreds of years and as far as I know no one has ever succeeded.
