A couple of pieces where I think the viola gets some of the best lines (and that's coming from a brass player!)

I think they're both gorgeously played, though the AI may disagree.

How about Brandenburg 6? My favourite of the set, I think, though 3 runs it close.

You ask that of a trumpet player?

For us, the 2nd is of such stratospheric significance, the others barely register.

So my favourite Brandenburg is the performance by Friedemann Immer

I imagine the ripieno viola scoring is exemplary, as one would expect of JSB.

Ah yes, the natural F trumpet, a bastard to play I imagine, but can make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck.

But I love the duet between the violas in the 6th. As with the alto voice there is something earthily sexy about it, compared to the violin. And that off the beat 3rd movement is almost impossible not to dance to.

So, today posed a fairly unchallenging query to the Google AI. See if you can spot the failure....

So many years all these LLM are on the market, and you still don't know that every time you ask some question, you get different answer.. I will ask twice the same question, within 10 seconds, and will get two slightly different answers..

If you wanted to discuss what mistake some LLM made, you should make screenshot.

Here is what I got:

Which part of it is wrong?

..a few seconds later..

Uh, you needed to click the link and observe the photo my search provided. That was what was amusing. I am sorry you took the post seriously and that the humorous error was not visible for you. Also, please feel free to consider that some devices may have trouble loading screenshots on this website - I'm not the first to have this problem. And that is why I posted a link instead.

ETA - that search was finally fixed, so you can't see the error now. The photo was originally of someone who looked like Garrison Keillor. Let's move on, shall we?

I did it. Twice. And made screenshots..

Nobody saw what you saw, that was point of my previous post.

So let's talk about it, so that we can have a fruitful discussion at least once. And fix it once and for all.

That was all it was. Well known public figure, head of large government agency, AI unable to provide the correct image. Later searches apparently fixed the problem.

I will bring up the screenshot issue with my Lenovo tablet if I can't get it resolved - will do that on the feedback forum later. Thanks.

For me it's number 3. I can't recall how many times I've listened to it. Especially the 3rd movement. I have no words to describe the experience.

But it's all of the Brandenburg concertos really. And it's Bach. Always Bach. The cello suites, the Goldberg variations, Magnificat...

There's something about Bach that makes it seem as if all of music were already in it.

Haven't we had an exchange about Bach before?

[...] the fundamental problem seems to be that AI systems have a self-denying ordinance which forbids them from replying  “I don’t know” or “Insufficient data”.

I've noticed exactly the same feature. I must say I lack a criterion to judge so-called generative AI. How "generative" generative AI actually is? I don't know.

I've skimmed through news about some generative AI packages genuinely doing seminal work in mathematics, for example. I can't significantly commit an opinion on that, TBH.
