Book 10 of the Rigveda is a late insert with a completely different pantheon and speculative cosmologia.
The Vedas even use different languages: Vedic and Sanskrit. Only the most ancient texts are written in Vedic, these are samhitas, mainly metric texts. And only these texts, samhitas, are really aryan.

I think that the metric samhitas in the Vedic language are considered reliable.
Most likely, the inserts are places where gods appear atypical for the Aryans like Vishnu, etc.

They were most likely distorted by the Brahmans, after the Macedonian, who destroyed the Vedic culture and began to build a polyethnic imperial syncretism(brahmanism and then hinduism)
