We have had a couple of different members recently who have referenced Lee Smolin's work (in one case, claiming he had stolen their ideas).

The interviewer is asking unusually mature and well phrased questions physics wise. Smolin is/was a renegade, good read.

For a change it is refreshing to read about more radical ideas from someone that also seems to have knowledge of current models and their applicability. Hope to get time to read Smolin's paper*.
