When i reformated it was my first time reformating our desktop, so i kinda didnt know what i was doing. Ok, so heres the deal. I now have two partitions with win xp on them. Although, the second (first one there) doesnt boot up anymore. I think the partition got deleted but something was left behind or something that causes it to stil appear on the OS choice menu. Anyway, i need some kind of partition software to delete this partition. I dont think there is much data on this second partition. If anyone knows of any freewarem or something, please tell me.

Sure, look up fsdisk. You can make a bootable floppy disk to partition.

 

Or, you can download knoppix linux, the live cd, which has a GUI partitioner called "

QTPARTED". Its awesome. and lets you create partiions.

I recommend Partition Magic. It's not free (I think they do a demo or something), but it allows you to delete the old partition and resize the existing one to fill the entire disk. I've used it quite a lot.

You can just use the partitioner that comes with teh Windows disk. That's what I use. Or Ubuntu.

Bootit I found out has a decent partitioning software. It's actually designed to be a bootloader, but you tell it not to install, and it turns into a "manager" or something. Others posted here are probably better but this one does everything you'd expect a partitioner to do.
