We are not going to get bogged down in yet another semantic discussion of future vs present vs past. Just as in relativity, we can and will discuss the variable of time in a particular coordinate system.

e.g. a message sent at t₀ can only be received at t₁ > t₀ in that frame of reference. One can further dictate that t₁ - t₀ >= L/c, whre L is the distance separating the sender and recipient.

 

If you can't discuss this in rigorous terms, don't post.
