  1. I am so glad to hear that I am correct to ask morning or night height whenever someone asks for my height.
  2. I love big bang theory too. I don't have enough scientific knowledge to know fact from fiction, but it's fun. I love superheroes. The likelihood of my developing superpowers is highly improbable, but it's fun to dream. I believe in God, and the soul. Did you know that the soul has a measurable weight? Yes, it is highly unscientific to believe in a deity, but I didn't say it's a guy floating around twiddling his thumbs. It is a vehicle to move beyond the ego, and something better. We are all in a kind of a Matrix. Until we learn to unplug, we are listening to someone else's story, and not our own. The mystery I would like to solve is... What is the meaning of life? Who am I? And how do it get where I am supposed to be?
  3. Forgive me if I am wrong, but I thought humans did evolve somewhat. Darker skin for those who live in areas with more intense light, single versus double eyelids for more sandy areas, more body hair for those in colder climates, etc. Intelligence and adapting to environments would play a part, but physical changes seem to be evident.
  4. Can DNA evidence be fake? (just curious) Why is Sasquatch listed in the army field manual?
  5. Why is it considered so unlikely for sasquatch to exist? There are many animals on the planet we have not yet discovered. Only recently was the striped leopard discovered, and recognized. Can you imagine the possibility of the North American Great Ape existing? From an evolution perspective, is it possible that Cro-magnon, Neanderthal, etc. may have not completely died out when Homo Sapiens became the dominant species? Just some thoughts. The thing is ... if sasquatch is not an animal... there would be a big impact: land claims, theology and the yahoos who want to go find evidence for themselves. No skeletal remains? I have quite a few raccoons and squirrels in my backyard. I have yet to see a carcass. I'm pretty sure they don't just vanish into thin air. We also don't usually see an awful lot of human remains lying around to be found. Just a thought.
  6. Hi, I'm Wing0125. I have no science degree whatsoever to speak of. I have a BA in Geography, but have been teaching music for a very long time. I do math for fun, and like science a lot as well.
  7. The fastest way to stop a nosebleed.... place an icepack (wrapped in a tea towel) on the back of your neck. Since all blood goes to your head... somehow it helps cool the blood, and makes the blood coagulate faster. I used to have a lot of problems with nosebleeds that wouldn't stop... and the hospital would stick a silver nitrate stick up my nose to cauterize the blood vessel. (I now have silver nitrate sticks at home in my first aid kit) Hot weather seems to be a big culprit. I find cooling my body temperature quickly, like immersing my feet in cold water helps in the summer. (kiddie pools are great!)
