  1. Don't wanna ask them. They used to be my friend but they changed their mind and the relationship between the two families is very tough. They never consider the others, so I don't think they would close thei doorway tightly. I live in a flat like some apartments in the US, I guess, I watched a film showing one. They never want to close their door. I don't know why. I don't think letting the outsiders know what you're doing in your own house is pleasing.
  2. I think I'll learn it but I want myself to be clear at the moment. Medulla oblongata's responsible for involuntary actions. So..does it play the role? and Involuntary action=reflex action only?
  3. What's the full name of IIRC? But, can't the medulla oblongata control it?
  4. Which systen is responsible for the secretion of saliva? The nervous system?
  5. I want to block the sound from my neighbour irritating me all the time. What should I consider the properties of sound? Speed?amplitude? Why installing a solid door is more practical than a standard hollow-core interior door for me? Secondly, should I try to reflect those waves, or absorb them with spongy lining? I can't afford expensive materials as I don't want to tell my parents about this. Buying some polystyrenes would be pleasing.
  6. Does it greatly affect the rate of reaction by the solid's small surface area? So a formation of solid in an equilibrium plays an vital role, right? Thanks.
  7. I heard my teacher say that copper(II) iodide is very unstable and form copper(I) iodide easily, but why? I've checked the standard electrode potential of [Math] Cu^{2+}+e^---->Cu^+ [/Math] [Math] Cu^{2+}+2e^----> Cu [/Math] I found that the reaction is not spontaneous. Anyone helps me?
  8. What about using nickel electrode as anode?
  9. There is only one intersection for the two graphs.
  10. I learnt a course in summer. It is the "Linear Programming". Although I only had several hours on this topic, I am fascinated by its powerful function of optimizing equations(or inequality you will know it later!) limited by constraints. [sorry I misunderstood your meaning, I just see the word"optimized"]
  11. If the original problem is from your book, your answer from this approach won't be equivalent. I think you put the no. wrongly into matrix. This is the major problem I suppose.
  12. The liquid does not conduct electricity well, does it?
  13. I put down a definition here. Specific latent heat (of fusion or of vaporization) is the amount of energy required to convert 1kg of a substance from one state to another. Specific heat capacity is the amount of energy required to change 1kg of a substance through 1 degree Celsius. Note: the unit may differ in some regions.
  14. Natural gas is mainly composed of methane. Methane is not toxic when inhaled, but it can produce suffocation by reducing the concentration of oxygen inhaled. It is even not regarded as toxic. It is not very soluble in water.
  15. Does passing electric current does? Water can be splitted very easily into hydrogen and oxygen but it is rather difficult for it to decompose spontaneously at high temperature.
  16. When we electroplate something with silver, we usually put silver as anode and the object going to be sticked on as the cathode. Moreover, an aqueous silver solution is also preferred. If we need to electoplate iron spoon with silver, we can't use silver nitrate solution. There's a direct reaction become the silver ions and iron atoms. We ought to use silver cyanide as solution. Can anyone figure out why this solution has the function of forbidding the reaction between the two ions?
  17. If a solution containing carbonate is being electrolysed, does not decomposition of carbonate into carbon dioxide become more favourable?
  18. Does it limit the maximum size of attachment? I've installed most of the essential functions, and checked my book. It said I need to download some software which have functions like Outlook Express as the Outlook does not support IIS. What shall I do then?
  19. I know it's an excellent and cool idea to send mails with your own server. No limit on the size of mail, fast, is its big advantage. Anyone knows how to set-up a outgoing server? The inputing I use the yahoo. I have installed IIS but there doesn't seem to have any option for me to press.
  20. In the web, http://www.merriam-webster.com, type is pronounced as 'tIp But in my dictionary, it is pronounced as taip. I always heard of the latter from my teachers, but the former seems to be also correct. In fact, which of them is correct?
  21. Which function of google mail is most fascinating? I heard it can be used as a storage of photos. Does gmail provide virus scan? The yahoo one is cool, it rescued me several times .
  22. If the fact is what I guess or think, then the current generated by sharing of charge is rather different from the current in a complete circuit. Asimov Pupil, give some more hints?
