  1. i was reading a thread about how there isnt many interesting threads any more, and no all-on-all debates or arguments, and i have to say, i agree...

    so i thought, what would make a good thread, which everyone could have their say in....

    and i came up with:

    LIFE

    what do you think of it?

    what is the purpose of it?

    what is the meaning of it?

    discuss.......

  2. at the moment screen's work at 800 X 600 or 1024 X 768 at whatever Hz

    my question is:

    is there a limit to how high this will go, or will they keep getting sharper and sharper?

    and also

    what resolutio do we see at? basically, at what resolution will the screen be better than our eyes?

  3. what do you lot think of all o the current software protection like safedisc and secur-rom, theyre good, but far too easy to crack and beat, you can download a copy of about any game you feel like, yet they all have protection on, surely there is some way the s/ware companies can stop people copying there games soo quickly, like by putting on some decent protection s/ware on the CD

  4. this is a really good thread, the only thing is that ive already started a similar one, i just renamed it as quantum entanglement,

    basically how the scientist achieved to 'teleport' the atom was because they used a method called quantum entalglement, now i am no expert on this, which is why i started a thread on it, but basically:

    scientist 'linked' two atoms, not physically, but imagine it, i dont quite understand this part, but somehow the atoms are connected, Einstien studied this and called it "Spooky"

    anyway, what happens is that the exact properties of atom 'A' are 'teleported' to 'B', however original atom 'A' is destroyed in the process, thus the atucal atom did not teleport, but the properties of the original atom ['A'] were transffered to another atom, at the cost of atom 'A's life!!!! if you get it

    summary:

    quantum entaglement, an atom is 'cloned'! so to say, at the expense of it's life, in other words it is destroyed and recreated somewhere else! instantly!

    this would be useful in quantum computing, whereby, information could be transported instantly anywhere in the world, it would outstrip broadband, as everything would be instant

    again, i dont know much about this method, but as i hope you can guess by what i just wrote, i understand the basics!!

  5. yeah, what yt2095 said.

    honey or tar are a thick liquid

    becuase the base of the stick would be in 'slow' time, it would make it more difficult to push down,

    i know computer games are not real, but for example:

    in this computer game i have, you slow down time in one point, then shoot the bad guys, the bullets speed normal speed towards the target, then slow as it goes into the area of 'slowed' time

    basically, youd be pushing the stick at normal time, but becuase the stick is a solid, and the speed of one part is affected by the speed of another part, the whole stick will be miving slowly,

    so like a computer network it will all work at the speed of the slowest network card, or in this case the slowest part of the stick

  6. read my above message for the script,

    this has been hosted on:

    not any more, the sites down

    only go on this is you dont want to get out, actually, you can get out, but only by ending the process, in windows this is ctrl+alt+del

    kinda off the subject, go onto

    http://www.teamcti.com/pview/prcview.htm

    this is a good reliable process viewer, and when you click 'kill task' unlike windows, it will terminate the program instantly wtvr program it is! even windows.exe!!!

    go to:

    http://www.teamcti.com/pview/prcview.htm

  7. Sayonara³: That will display one alert box' date=' for an infinite loop of them you'd use this code.

    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    function myAlert() {
     var i = 1;
     while(i > 0) {
       alert("Your properly escaped message here");
     }
    }
    // -->
    </script>

    then to do it when the page loads, make your body tag look like this:

    <body onload="myAlert();">

    I haven't tested this code, but I can't see why it won't work.[/quote']

    thanks ive done this and it works, just a warning, i think the only way to shut the windows is to log off [network or windows itself] or shut down your computer! but thanks loads, good prank for friends, ill upload it to a website and tell you all the address, but dont go to it, coz u wont get out, i dont think anyway, maybe u could terminate the program! internet explorer

  8. one sec, i used to do basic html/java stuff, since you all seem to know what you are talking about, can someone just post the whole code which i can copy and paste, just make the message wtvr you want, i understand java better than i write it, i can edit it after... thnx

  9. i think that all humans are stimulated in the same basic ways,

    but the fine details are down to the personal individual, some people like porn, and others like child porn, i dont particually like either, but there's a difference between different people, not between different sexes.

    although there may be a slightly different averages for different sexes, i think its down to the individual

  10. im not really sure what category this should come under but anyway:

    recently i saw in a newspaper that some scientist had teleported the properties of an atom, they'd teleported things before, but nothing as big as an atom and nothing as complex as an atom either

    here's a link to a website explaining what they did/found:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/3811785.stm

    it says that this is an important break through because althought they are still a long way off teleporting humans, they could use it to teleport data in computers instantaniously

    but what i was interested in was how they did it...

    they used a method called 'quantum entaglement', by which two atoms were 'bound' to each other's fate! in a sense! so that what happened to one atom, happened to the other, Einstien himself called this very process

    "spooky".

    i was wondering if anyone could tell me more about. explain in detail, but remember that i dont know much about this method, but if you start off with the basics ill soon pick it up!

    thanks in advanced...
