JillSwift , This is what you supplied to our conversation , as a definition of a Theory , I don't disagree , I am not changing definitions to fit my needs , 1. a coherent group of general propositions used as principles of explanation for a class of phenomena: Einstein's theory of relativity. It is how these words are interpreted that matters . A proposition is a proposal which is proposed to fit a set of circumstances . It is itself a theory . Unproven !

Belief in chemistry , physics and math requires faith and a lot of what is physics , chemistry and math has no evidence , it is theory . Does this make them religions ? Does this make belief in ghost's and spirits a science ?

Here I will define what my view is to clear up any confusion . Radioactivity is the spontaneous disintegration of unstable nuclei with the emission of one or more types of radiation . I learned that at 12 years of age and have always thought that . Radiation is what has been emitted ( radiated ) and this radiation is radioactive ( a property of radiation ) . From the point of view of safety , I would hope I don't influence some of the nuclear engineers who have a look around here now and again , causing a big bang in the process . I am only the half educated fool in a world full of even bigger fools . The term ' radioactivity ' is also applied to radio receiver activity . This is when a radio receiver senses radiation . There are multiple meanings for terms .

I watch with interest and shouldn't branch off to god knows where . I always make relevant posts and if a person does not understand why I think they are relevant I can explain my point of view further .

I know of at least one area of land that contains approximately 50 million people and sometimes they like to play the ' we are in Europe card ' and other times they like to play the ' them and us card ' .

I think a definition of what ' Europe ' is ? , must first be made .

What about a study of the poisoning effects of household cleaning chemicals , on children , who think that ' Lemon ' and ' Coconut ' , for example , might just taste delicious and they can't tell the difference . You'd be taking on the chemical giants , the CORPORATIONS !

The probability is that you can find a source that tells you it isn't and I'll find a source that says it is . I live far from Japan and traces of radioactive material are being found in the sea . We already have a nuclear plant near to us dumping things on purpose and accidentally and the sum of the parts equals the total . They've been doing it since the 1950's . Naturally occuring radioactive gases and a little uranium can also be sensed and then there is Chernobyl's (1986) after effects . There are rumours that little people in big steel tubes are also floating around with nuclear engines . The odd fishing trawler disappears now and again and it's not fish they are catching . On the issue of a cleanup I will say this . Where is the material going to go ? Will it go into thousands of steel drums for 1000 years before it can be opened ? That's low level radioactive waste . Tell me any different and I won't agree . Who is going to pay for it ? Nobody is likely to clean the environment for free . Swansont , I will probably die indirectly from cancer , maybe the final thing to get me will be the flu for 2 weeks . The doctors ask , " Do you have a family history of ............... etc ? " because cancer has hereditary risks . So , I base my thinking on what the doctor says . Little Boy and Fat Man went to Japan 65 years ago . Cancer is still killing people from Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the hereditary effects will kill some of their children . Again , my logic extends from what the doctor says . Radioactive meat is being found in European countries because of the Soviet accident of Chernobyl . These animals were not even alive then . Lemur , I have perfectly good information about radiation and the radioactivity that goes with it . What exactly would you like to know ? Forget about danger levels lemur . I'll tell you how many nuclear power stations have had explosions in my life , so far , 2 ! There are so many earthquakes in Japan that they are not even making the news now . News networks are already losing interest . The problem is the Nuclear industry . We would be better off making electricity from sunlight and wind .
