  1. It's going to happen eventually. They did it with everything else. If that happens I just wont use that service, if all the services do it, I won't get internet.

If consumers had any self-control and dropped convience for a few minutes huge companies couldn't do this sort of thing, it would be economical suicide.

I don't care if companies make huge money but atleast do it with intelligence and technology, not cut throat tactics.

  2. Don't forget about getting in an elevator' date=' and then pushing all the button so it stops at each floor. :D

I've never done that, but I've been in an elevator where someone else did that. The elevator was full, and there were a lot of angry people in there.[/quote']

    >:(

  3. Netherlands!!!!!

I can't wait to see them play. Soccer brings out my alternative personality! Nothing else in this world gets me yelling at an electronical device like that.

This year is the Netherlands turn.....(hopefully).

  4. a desire to be recognized by the state, Gutz?

lol not really. I'd rather them leave me the hell alone. Maybe I am baised because I never really believed in government (even though I work for them, shhh!). A fairy tale dream I guess as well.

I've just always though that government being involved in marriage degraded it. So naturally I would like the idea of seperating or abolishing government rule on marriage. I really don't see them authorizing personnales to preform or partake in voodoo rituals, so why marriage. It's not their job.

  5. Yeah a self portrait of himself with feminine features drawing out some sort of balance between the sexes.

I've always liked art, I find other paintings better though, not saying the mona lisa isn't great.

I am sure 300 years from now people will be stumped as to why people like "fiddy cent" was so popular. That would be a true mystery. Atleast the Mona Lisa had some artistic merit.

  6. I think you may have misunderstood my post. When I said "Yes, of course, as long as the tax break were removed" I meant removed from everyone, not just removed for gay couples. The 'everyone' in that implies I am treating them all in the same way.

    I totally agree.

I believe tax breaks were not originally intended for the couple that is married specifically though. I think it was built around the family idea. A tax break back then may have have helped when large families were common.

Obviously not every married couple is having children but I think back then when the state was more influenced by religion, people didnt procreate till they got married. If that were true you could assume that people who werent married weren't in a state to have kids. Certainly not in our age would such a relaxed idea would work, but it seems plausible.

Regardless of how it came about, the system doesn't really work well in our time. The government shouldn't be involved in this matter. I've always felt that marriage should be a ceremonial representation of "love", rather then a legal documentation with benefits.

Obviously there will be churches that will not marry a gay couple, but there are other ways to proclaim or celebrate love. Another thing too, why would gay couples want to marry in an establishment that doesn't like them. Right or wrong I am not going to force my way into becoming a black panther memeber (I mean no actual connection between the two) It's not going to work, thats my personal belief which lies beyond basic human rights anyway if you can even cut the line like that. Such conflict for things that are so trivial I guess bothers me.

  7. Artistically it was that every time you visited the facial (or smile I cant remember) expression changed. That and it's suppose to be a man or something. Then there is always the realism or naturalism.

  8. Michael Keaton

He made batman look cool. I think it was also the directing. I liked the darkness of the first two films. The others were crap, although the last one wasn't that bad. Well besides the whole samurai thing....where did that come from? I really hope that wasn't in the comic series.

  9. Thanks for your thoughts back. It was just one of those things I think about during French or Maths. Its just strange to think that over 165 million years they probably(!) couldn't have built a boat or even a semi-stable structure like a building. Whereas within our 200,000 years, we have gone to space. Funny.

Think of it this way. Think of it from a means of surivival only. What parts of the body does a dinosaur use to surivive? If it didnt need to be smart or intellegent, it didn't need to exercise it's brain, It was happy with "Me hungry, Me eat", It wasn't till it got to the human line where using the brain became an advantage. The first of the line didn't have big teeth or claws, its skin was not scaly, Small enough to be target or meal, too big to hide from the predators. Evolution does take a long time, but thats because the genetic mutations are random (hense you can have similar species but different) as I keep hearing bascule says, but natural selection isn't so where a human uses it's brain alot, it's more likely going to naturally evolve then something that doesn't because there is no need for it.

Atleast thats how I see it. I might be totally off HAHAHa...*nervious laughter*

I can't express it in words but I know that evolution flows logically.

  10. Armed with only with a Bunsen burner, a modest supply of chemical compounds, and a balance scale—the last of which Hapner has "yet to find any good reason to use"—this controversial nonconformist defies every standard definition of what a scientist should be. From his tendency to round off calculations, to his rejection of controlled experiments, Hapner is determined to avoid becoming "one of those cowardly sheep who slavishly kowtows to a tired old methodology."

LMAO, Thats right! stick it to the man!

  11. So we should restrict our own freedoms based on fear of reprisal from the over-sensitive and those who cannot tolerate differing opinions?

How is that freedom? Sorry' date=' but the fault here lies in one place and one alone: those who are too emotionally immature to tolerate criticism.

    Mokele[/quote']

We abuse freedom to the farthest extent (which is fine...but). NA mentalities don't work in places with alot extreme religious beliefs. We can have rallies and picket lines they can't. So unless they are serious in trying to overthrow that extremist mentality permanently, pushing buttons is just giving higher probability for people to get hurt. Personally I take living one more day over "freedom".

I know how it sounds. Nothing is nice or fair in survivial.

I believe in freedom of speech, but there is time and place for everything.

    LOOK.

If someone, or people get hurt because of the result of someones need to express an opinion disregarding or ignorant to the consequences, should be held accountable. I'll say it too, I don't believe in absolute freedom, but thats a different topic.

  12. For a sensitive situation "button pushing" is not the best idea. You don't wave a red flag at a bull, well atleast I don't unless I want to deal with the consequences. People shouldn't have to die or get hurt because some person wants the ability to say whatever and when ever he/she wants.

I am more of quiet revolution, or well planned revolution type person, not an arbitrary impulsive type. Sure you can do that here because we created an enviroment for it. I think it's obvious it doesn't work so well in other places.

  13. Science isn't cool though. It never will be...

There are alot of average intelligent based people, there are few above average intelligence, and a very few geniuses.

People tend to what they are comfortable with.

Lets not fool ourselves either. There is a reason why people who visit this place do so. There are things in common.

  14. Raising quality and quanity will be difficult. Make this place a little more "new person" friendly. Have a section for beginners of scientific exploration. New Designs, new cool features. Make it attractive.

Then quality. The community makes that happen. You can't expect to attract a type of person and hope that method will work for all. Intelligent people are attracted to intelligent conversation. Make it a communal responsibility for quality. Which I think you guys do. Maybe a little stricter moderation.

Build it and they will come.

    P.S.

    Is my signature too "riskay"?
