  1. Haha, I felt no such thing. It was no mistake. It was just really funny to me. Still is. 98.4% of woman using the internet for things generally associated with male behavior? It's rather witty if you ask me. Point of interest though: I did feel attacked personally with your last post as it was completely false and felt I had to rectify the situation. [edit] And you'll probly notice every post of mine in this thread up till now has been a joke. The most recent being "This thread sucks. I think it should be deleted." It is clearly my thread and it is ironic that I should want for my own thread to be deleted. Oh, and why exactly did you think I felt personally attacked? I don't know how that would have come accross...
  2. Well, styrofoam actually makes my teeth feel like they are being cut in half, front to back... that is probably where the name came from. It's not that. People use funky little oscilators all the time and don't have any sort of response to it. It probably has to do with the pitch, but not just because it is high. More likely it is because of more than one high pitch at the same time, some sort of sound pattern that is different for every person.
  3. This thread sucks.. I think it should be deleted. [edit] Come to think of it... I'm pretty sure I was drunk for both of the first two posts. (I emphasise both because it was two separate incidences.)
  4. How? Who says? Just because a junk heap on the ground can't shoot lightning up my arse doesn't mean the same junk arranged in the fashion of a generator, capacitor and a series of grounded terminals couldn't... If everything you say is true, that would render the processes of complex proteins and acids useless, as your arguments for the most part exclude important chemical reactions that take place in the body all together. The sum of the pieces don't always equal the value of the entire enterprise.
  5. I thought people close to Hellen kept certain smelly objects with them to help her tell who came into the room...(?)
  6. Just a point of interest: the UKs most widely used cell frequencies are 900MHz and 1.8GHz. For North America its 800 and 1900 MHz. And when selecting a service, go for the ones that use low frequency, digital signals. What does PWM stand for BTW? Pulse [word (width/wave?)] Modulation I'm guessing.
  7. Werd.. I've gonnen confused. So one milliard is equal to 10^9 or one trilliard minus 10^6? But if you are really good at billiards you could use 10^-3 * ten million billion quadrilliards? Or is that wrong? In other words, could you post the british number wording system please? The *illiards are unfamilliar to me. And when exactly did it change over, since we all came from the Merry Old ever so long ago. (Well many of us in North America anyways.)
  8. I wasn't lying about the Dick Burnes feller.
  9. I've learned that many people would assume a number with a percentage sign after it is a statistic, when I clearly wrote "opinion" and "well thought out" in the same post. I did actually want to see what would happen there, and was kindof surprised that noone said anything. Why do you think that is?
  10. And to answer YT: This thread was part of an in-depth look into the human behavioral system, mainly used for observing how people react when faced with a controversial, provocative suggestion. ie, I was pulling your legs. [Got Sarcasm?]
  11. Damn rights. I'm going to see if I can locate some astronomy clubs near me.
  12. God came out of left field. Soul and God do not come hand in hand in my view. What you have said implies a force we have not yet been able to explain but in no way implicates the existance of an all powerful universe defining entity. But that is only if you are correct in the assumption that it is not possible for an actual conciousness to exist in our universe as we know it today. How did you come to the conclusion that a god MUST exist? And why is the Christian faith specifically right, as opposed to any other faith in which humans possess souls? Do mentally handicapped people have souls? I've seen some really smart chimanzies on television with at least the mental capacities of some of the handicapped people I have met in person. Is this a special case? Do the chimps have souls? If it is unprovable that animals have souls it is certainly unprovable that severely handicapped people have souls. What if a chimp and a handicapped person play checkers and the chimp wins, does he obtain the handicapped persons soul by default or is God the referee in that case? If not, why not? The 0.01% difference in DNA between the chimp and the handicapped person? Please elaborate.
  13. Yah, but the water is moving about itself as well. But if there was only one string in a void, would it be possible for it to move? [edit] This book sounds awesome already. What was it called?
  14. Are you the youngest member then?
  15. Awesome thread. Who's the genius that came up with this one?
  16. Are there any galaxies larger than a fraction of a degree that we can see? Would they look anything like the ones in StarWars that are totally dense and visible?
  17. The Macromedia Flash language (ActionScript) is insanely easy to learn. It also teaches you many of the basics of Basic w/o having to learn actual syntax ( it has an error free code editor built in; you could also turn it off if you want to do more advanced coding ). In that sense it is a great way to start out and enables you to branch out easily. And seeing as it is object based like VB, making small games is easy as pie. Except with flash, you can control the objects behaviors with the greatest of ease, as that is what it is meant to do. Of course you have to buy Flash first. Anyone know any good VB style all-in-one code editors/compilers for Java? Or for any other common language for that matter.
  18. That's too bad, it's very interesting. I'm sure it's secret is the cure to many a brain disease. It's kindof like how I caused a power surge at work, totally messing up a terminal. It still managed to create patterns on the screen of random flashing pixels in rectangular blocks.
  19. I figured it out, sound has a speed limit b/c matter cannot accellerate at infinite speeds, and it takes a certain ammount of energy to get the particles moving.. duh. Remember that thing where light enters and exits as if it were travelling faster than the speed of light? Think that could be used in data transfer applications in the future?
  20. Thanks for the heads up. I was thinking more along the lines of wierdo brain exercises. Yah, I think I'll just pass on the drug abuse for now, excluding beer.
  21. Yah, but how does that cause hallucinations? What is the process?
  22. So there. Those were also two of the coolest episodes, totally sidestepping two of the greatest flaws generated by the initial series. I mean, it was supposed to be like that.
