  1. m-waves' date=' M-WAVES.

Another 'dumb' human response(no directed offense). We don't fully understand how the mind works. We have no means to detect m-waves (e.g. GM tube for radiation) Who's to say they don't exist.

The action of thinking. Isn't this an action - which results in an electrical impulse).

M-waves would have to be physical. Yes.

It probably would have to be a new type of wave (besides the 2 in definition now)

We don't really know all there is to know about physics.

Its not about "creation" of physics? Its more about discovering i.e. Einstein discovered x. Newton discovered y.

If anyone "created"(use term loosely) physics it would be Newton with his laws and then people built on this over time abiding by the physical rules of each others discoveries.

So its just a matter of discovering m-waves (as a type of wave which carries an instruction)

So the idea can't be ruled out.

I don't want to piss anyone off.

This is a speculation forum and I'm supporting the idea of telepathy. That's all.

I'm no genius(as is made clear from my posts)[/quote']

You can't be a genius insulting me. And yes I took it as directed at me, who else was it directed at? It's craphole remarks like those that make me wish the internet was not so anonymous.

M-waves, brain waves, whatever. It's all the same psychobabble BS. We can detect nutrinos, microwaves, hell we can even detect the background radiation from the bigbang but we can't detect some type of emission from our own bodys? It's my personal opinion that anyone who believes in these sort of things are crackpots.

  2. When you could be so much more. A long time ago I came to realize our flaw is being human. We humans should focus on enhancing ourselves beyond what we are. The realm of science exist for that very reason but yet people rather be trapped in their pool of ignorance. I see no purpose for those that limit themselves and others.

Not even God has the right to limit self aware beings.

This idea is nothing new. Do some research into Eugenics you might like what you read. I personally think Eugenics in the right dose could be a good thing.

As for your ignorance comment, you are not looking at history. From a historical standpoint we are very VERY young in terms of understanding the bigger picture. Hell, it is not even been 200 years since we finally got a grasp on our true origins. Give man a chance before labeling us as ignorant monkeys.

  3. I think telephathy is hocus pocus. How can the mind manipulate the physical environment around it? For every action a reaction exists, and I don't see how a simple thought could do anything close to telepathy, levitation, etc.

A more realistic scenario would be aliens using a form of body language or movements to communicate if they never developed a way of manipulating and recieving sound waves, which are proven to exist unlike some brain wave. Hell, I would even believe in a form of light pulses that are used as communication, which are recieved and interpreted by the other alien before some brain wave type communication. We as organisms use the environment to our advantage and manipulate laws and physical things that allready exist. We don't create new physics, or "brain waves."

  4. Two of my favorites:

"Cease quoting the law. We carry weapons!!!" - Pompey the Great (to a city which objected to being besieged)

"They couldn''t hit an elephant at this dist. . . . . " -General John Sedgwick (The greatest single uncompleted quote in history)

  5. I am so tired of seeing dating web sites that claim you will find "happiness". They should be taken off the Internet because dating is completely pointless. There is absolutely no sense in deciding that you want a boyfriend or girlfriend and then go "looking" for one. I can name several girls that have asked me out on a date' date=' and I simply said, "no". You will never find true happiness by dating.

You must wait until you find the perfect person. You should find somebody with a great personality, and somebody who will really care about you forever. You must find someone who cares about you for who you really are, not who you can pretend to be.

I am a guy, but I must say that the way most guys treat their girlfriends is just awful. They often choose a girlfriend because of the way she looks, not because of her personality. If I ever listen to two guys talking about their girlfriends, I usually feel sorry for the girls, who actually think the guys care about them. Some guys actually say stuff like, "Well, she's really hot, but she always wants to talk to me. I'm sick of listening to her problems and acting like I care about her feelings." I feel like the whole purpose of a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship is caring about somebody's feelings, and also knowing that person cares about you.

I also don't understand when guys brag about how many girlfriends they've had. They act like it is a good thing that they've hurt so many girls' feelings! I've also heard guys say stuff like, "I'm going to date that girl over there. When we breakup, I'm going to date that girl in our other class." What is the point in even thinking about getting a girlfriend when you are already planning on breaking up with them! How can anyone care so little about another person's feelings?

It is often surprising to people that I have never had a girlfriend. However, I can also say that I've never broken up with anyone before. When people come together, and then breakup, it only causes pain for both people. I suppose that I may never find that "perfect person", and I'll probably always be alone. Yes, it sounds like a very depressing life for me. However, I won't ever have to worry about hurting an innocent girl's feelings.[/quote']

Gotta agree mostly with the original post. All the fantastic woman I have met have been totally by accident. When I am "looking" I mostly either find sex or nothing (or both combined).

  6. I came from Jesus.

Some of this is hear-say of course, but on my fathers side we are said to be descended from spanish nobility and one of my ancestors was a Knight of Santiago back in the middle ages. More recently (and this is more confirmed), my great great grandfather was a travelling musician who would go town to town playing the Mandolin for money and food. He met my great great grandmother while playing in a town in the Canary Isles. She heard his music and fell in love, they were married shortly after. My grandparents left spain at a very young age and went to Cuba. They had children (one of which was my father) and when my father was about 15 (1961) they fled Castros Cuba and arrived in Miami. They learned English in about 6 months and became citizens. Although they had to start from scratch upon arriving here they are doing fairly well now and love this country.

My mothers side is a bit more sketchy. My grandfathers origins are not clear as he was an orphan at a very young age. Is is certainly from eastern european origin but was raised in the U.K. My grandmother is of Lithuanian/Polish descent and was raised as a traditional Jew. They migrated to the USA in the early 20th century, but many stayed in Poland and were killed by the Nazis in WW2. By grandfather served in WW2 as an aerial photographer (he flew in the bombers and took pictures). Perhaps one day I will do some more research into my familys origins. This is a pretty cool topic!

  7. Nobody who understands what a scientific theory is thinks that a theory is based on "complete guesswork" so I don't understand your comment.

Your conjecture about humans' date=' monkeys and dinosaurs could become theory if you could make some predictions based on it, come up with evidence that supported it, etc. Alas, it has already been falsified many times over.[/quote']

    Why waste the cartilage.

  8. I don't think you guys are understanding how this would work.

You enter the forum all new posts are lit up. As you read them they would get marked read. Any posts you did not read during that session would remain lit as not read UNLESS you press the marked read button. So, if I read a few interesting posts and decide not to read the rest due to not having an interest, I could push the marked read button and clear the whole forum. Only by marking them read or reading the thread would it get marked read. This way I could read all the forums without having to guess which threads are new or missing some threads because they were auto marked. And besides, maybe you could simply have this feature as a User CP option for those who wish it? I would greatly appreciate beyond words if this was implemented.

  9. First I would like to start out by saying I'm not depressed or stressed so don't go saying I need help. I'm an artist and I don't expect you to see what I see or even feel.

Now does anybody else feel like they are trapped in a underground jail? Big universe with maybe infinite worlds and not many humans care. Every place I go it's always the same boring repeating human activities such as' date=' work, relationships, kids, religion, etc. The real questions I guess I'm here to ask is don't you ever want more? Aren't you sick of just being human?[/quote']

In response to your OP, I can relate greatly. I used to be very bored with life because I was unaware of my own mortality (I am a narcissist), and also unaware of my innate desire to learn new things. My remedy for my problem was a near death experience which allowed me to appreciate my mortality, and then by seeking to learn new things on a regular basis. I find that no matter how much I tend to learn more knowledge is always their for the taking. I think the problem here is you have a bit of a narcissistic immortality complex mixed with too much star gazing. You need to come back to Earth and literally rewire your brain to appreciate simpler things. So in the end I think the issue lies in your own mind, not in our beautiful planet full of wonders. And I think you ARE depressed regardless of what you say.

  10. Happieness is a state of mind, not a destination.

Focus and meditate on what is important for you in life, and keep those goals in mind. I went through a divorce when I was younger, so I know how it feels to have the "girl problems." If you need someone to talk to about it who can relate to you I am here bud, just send me a PM. Whatever you do, death is NOT the answer. Things get better with time and life is a one time deal. Do NOT throw it away needlessly over some stress.

  11. Now that I have reviewed this thread, it appeared Dave didnt even read my post but just answered to the title. Can I get an admin to respond who has actually read my post please (not trying to be too rude but it is a tad hurtful to be "autoreplied" to)? Yet again I come to this forum today and half the new posts are wiped because I have taken too long to blitz through them.

  12. Yes, rap is horrible. It's the only music genre to degrade women  . Rap is also the only genre that people mimic their actions in music videos. As someone has already stated most of the rap on television is crap. What do you expect from MTV, BET, and VH-1? I'm[/i'] fed up with the constant generalizations about music I keep seeing lately. God knows if I can count how many rap threads or emo threads I've seen online. And the titles are so creative too. Who would have thought to rhyme rap with crap?

    Me.
