  1. history is full of groups of people(even some with guns) getting pwned by bears

And more of bears getting pwned by humans :D

I must still hold true to my belief that if an alien came to Earth it would find Homo Sapien to be the most impressive species on the Planet.

  2.

in your "advanced" civilization' date=' people starve because they have a lack of green paper. how is that advanced?[/quote']

Who said I would fight the bear alone? Humans are social hunters.

And I didnt say civilization is advanced. Its ass backwards. I said Humans themselves are.

  3. quite serious. how do you know what other species do or do not know?

Umm because they all lack the complex civilization and interactions with the world that we do? Animals lives center mostly around survival. Ours center around luxory (albeit this is a new "invention")

    "yea....try it without technology"

Depends on your definition of technology. Do you consider stone working a technology? Cause if you allow that, then pick an animal and I will give you a plan to kill it. Without stone working tech, I will admit we would most likely not survive.

  4. have you read this thread at all?

btw' date=' there are a lot of animals at the top of the food chain. there is more than one. food chains aren't all that big.[/quote']

I meant "the" food chain. As in with proper planning and coordination (which we possess) we can slay any animal on earth. Whales, sharks, bears, anything.

  5. one catastophe and all our "advanced" technology is gone. we are screwed. that is where i am going

I fail to see how modern Homo Sapien cannot survive off of hunter gathering as we did for millions of years. Its still on our genes, and if worse comes to worse we can resort to that again and still be on the top of the food chain. Thats impressive to me.

  6. good question. we're setting ourselves up for a fall.....a big one.

I dont get where you are going with this. What is the point? Do you mean that we devolved ourselves? Either way, if a cataclysm occurs and we die off due to it, I am sure we will not be the only species to go. So how does that make us any less impressive then the next dieing species? Life will go on either way... I mean you would have to totally sterilize the planet core to crust to eliminate all life from the planet.

  7. We don't have mastery, we have forced dominion, which is nothing compared to subtle influence. ANd we might be safe for now, but think about the long term effects. Most notably, the accumulation of bad genes, some deadly.

Alls I know is I am now sitting in a nice comfortable living room, using electricity to communicate with people thousands of miles away without fear of any animal harming me. No other creature on Earth can claim that.

  8. Why can people never just say "Ok I'm happy about my life".

I find the majority of people need to be giving out about something or they don't feel content. Is this an inadequeacy of people or the system they live in.

They're always wanting more' date=' in some form or another. (This I know is necessary to the progression of our race but hear me out)

Even if "more" may cause hardship to another person. (Survival of the fittest yes....wait)

But I increasingly find myself questioning civilised human nature. By that I mean on one hand we say "That's wrong, you can't steal from him/her", on the other a person is allowed to make a decision which affects thousands in a derogatory way. We stand by saying "That's terrible" and do nothing. Some one else is always the cause of the problem and there are thousands of solutions... coming from all angles.

I long for a day when honesty will prevail, wouldn't everything be so much simpler...!!![/quote']

I honestly think with proper education and reasoning we can overcome our natural tendencies that are ruining this planet for us and the animals which are here with us. Just because something is set in place and appears to be natural does not mean it is "best" for the planet or our species.

  9. But the individuals who are not trained in the scientific method may accept the creationist arguments. Pêön de has done a service by debunking here and now where it can be read by people reading this[/u'] thread. People who are not going to search the rest of the forums, who are not going to look at TalkOrigins. I raise my glass to Pêön de.

    Meh

  10. This guy is an idiot. Look at this reasoning:

" been at least five years that my unique and correct opinions have been available on the Internet"

In one sentence he states not only that an opinion is a fact, but also that he is the sole possessor of this knowledge.

    Here is the addy:

And in case you were wondering, his as$ was allready torn asunder on TV:

I cannot explain other then boredom why I even posted this. Sorry. :\

  11. FYI it DOES exist.

Here is the website for the biggest organization for this movement.

The people who take advantage of developing youth to satisfy sexual desires is selfish and extremely self centered. Perhaps they are attractive because they are nubile, but mentally they are not ready for sexual encounters, no matter how you reason it.

  12. The Selfish Host Theory:

Once upon a time, a few genes decided to be selfish and create a host. Suddenly the host decided to take advantage of his new found statis, and started smoking, drinking, and partying like a rock star. The gene wished he could return to his single celled life, but alas, the genes found themselves powerless as the host unlocked the secret of the genes. Suddenly, the selfish gene found itself being manipulated this way and that way to suit the hosts desires. Suddenly, the selfish gene was no longer in Kansas.

  13. Are you talking along the lines of the grandfather paradox?

I mean simply since time itself is just a measurement of energy in motion, to travel in "time" would require changing every particle in the entire universe. If I went back in "time" the existence that I was in would no longer be there since most matter cannot exist in two places at the same "time." I dont know if I am being clear, or perhaps I am not grasping this concept in the correct way.

  14. I do not think it was a waste of time to debunk this "garbage." You must remember many people who frequent this site are not geniuses and need these kind of things to be debunked so they are not fooled by this kind of rubbish. If you all want to see a planet free from ignorance we need to remember that humans have many levels on intelligence and that we need to cater to every ones level of absorption. Thank you guys and gals for debunking those points. I have never heard of them before and as I read them I was actually going hmmmm...

  15. Well given the universe appears to be accelerating, Perhaps shortly after the big bang it slowed down drastically, overcame the gravitational pull to draw it back into a singularity, and then started to expand again. Think of a marble being pushed up a hill, it would start out fast (due to the energy you pushed it with) but as it reached the peak it would slow down more and more, but it had enough energy to go over the top, then it would accelerate again as it went down hill faster and faster. Using this analogy, the big bang is the push, the marble is all matter, and the top of the hill is the ultimate peak of gravitational pull from the matter. Now that its over the hump, it is accelerating faster and faster, thus the universe aged alot more then we think as it got over the "hump."

Perhaps the Universe is much bigger then we think, and the reason we don't detect anything beyond the farthest galaxies we can see is because they are "burned out" into a singularity themselves, sort of like a universal oort cloud. Perhaps singularities of galaxies have been pulled towards each other, joining into an even larger singularity.
