  1. I think your analyzing this a little too much; YT just said that an atom looks like our solar system. You are familiar with Arts? In Art it doesn't have to be pretty, it just tries to convey an idea, emotion, or visually interesting form. I took YT's post exactly as that. The nucleus of the atom can represent a planet, the electrons represent the satellites. The electrons in an atom don't have to orbit on a fixed path they only have to move to resemble a planet with its satellites rotating around it.
  2. Sayonara³ I really don't wish to discuss the illegal speak anymore its really getting old. It was not illegal. To say that it was is demeaning to every nation in the UN. If it was then why has nothing happened since it started? Where are all the sanctions or punishment? Truly if rules where broken or this was an illegal act then surely there should have been some type of action taken. Before you even go there let me say this; please don't say because it’s America, "the sole superpower", "the richest and largest country". That is complete bull and means nothing, to bring anything like that up as an excuse is disgraceful to all other nations in the UN. I personally like the UN, even though at times it doesn't seem to serve its purpose at least it stands for something good, something that if worked on could probably fulfill what it was created for; to promote world peace.
  3. Atm I will not go back and forth here, if you didn't want anyone to bring up Christianity then please explain why you mention it in all three of your posts? It cleary serves no purpose. Please excuse me but I did not have time to run through all the links you provided but I found something very satisfying that I read in one of the articles "They believe the United States is virtuous and has a mission to remain indefinitely as the world's sole superpower. They don't really care about specific oil interests." In any case the ones I did read I still did not find any civilians being slaughtered. Yes it is very tragic that civilians have died, and believe me I have nor want to come out with an excuse for that but it is a war after all.
  4. Interesting; opinionated and unproven come to mind though. Yes I am familiar with the quantum model of an atom, It explains much of what we know about chemistry and physics but certainly does not give us a definite answer or picture of an atom.
  5. How so? I think the solar system does resemble an atom.
  6. Atm there is no link. This has nothing to do with oil. This has nothing to do with Christianity. "civilians are being slaughtered" I have been reading aljazeera, the most anti-American webpage I can find since before the war ever started and I have yet to see any headline that has 'civilians' or 'slaughtered' in them. FYI, atm I didn't contradict any valid points. Sayonara³, you really believe Osama bin Laden just says bad things about America and this is the cause of my reasoning? That the whole United States says wow, this guy is an idiot for talking bad about us lets go bomb him? He didn't establish al-Qaeda, an organization that connects and coordinates fundamentalist Islamic terrorist groups around the world. He didn't bomb the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, he didn't bomb the World Trade Center in New York City in 1993, he didn't bomb an apartment complex that housed U.S. servicemen in Dhahran, and he didn't arrange the suicide bombing in 2000 of the USS Cole, he's not the primary suspect behind the hijacking of airplanes that were deliberately crashed into the Pentagon near Washington D.C., and the twin towers of the World Trade Center in 2001. NO he can't be right? He is just as you say a 'fuckwit'? I guess your right Sayonara³ maybe I don't have a winning argument. NOT[/n]!!!
  7. Terrorists typically attempt to justify their use of violence by arguing that they have been excluded from, or frustrated by, the accepted processes of bringing about political change. They maintain that terrorism is the only option available to them, although their choice is a reluctant—even a regrettable—one. Whether someone agrees with this argument or not often depends on whether the person sympathizes with the terrorists’ cause or with the victims of the terrorist attack. The aphorism “One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter” underscores how use of the label terrorism can be highly subjective depending upon one’s sympathies. I voted yes, we coined the term "War on Terrorism" because of the psychotic people who say things like “To kill Americans and their allies—civilians and military—is an individual duty for every Muslim who can do it in any country in which it is possible to do it” ---Osama Bin Laden FYI atm, this has nothing to do with oil or the birthplace of Christianity.
  8. There was no real turning point for World War II. The only notable parts in my opinion are: Battle of Britain Lend-Lease Act The German Invasion of the USSR Bombing of Pearl Harbour The Battle of Midway Guadalcanal The Normandy Invasion The Battle of the Bulge Hiroshima and Nagasaki
  9. I am with you all on this one, but really when we download copyrighted music, programs and games on the internet it is illegal. So even though I don't agree with the way they are trying to prevent it; I do understand why they are doing it. [edit] They are entitled to protect their interests, even if it pisses us off. Bottom line they do 'suck' as dude says but that doesn't give us the right to break the law. [edit]
  10. Thanks for the ideas, but there are a couple rules I forgot to mention. (Sorry) 1. Everything has to be built by me, no pre-existing mechanical or electrical components. 2. Can only be powered by the mill itself, no batteries or external power. Since a generator is pretty simple, I was thinking of using a household electric fan to turn the blades on the mill to light the bulb. The duration would be as long as the blades on the mill are spinning the light should be on. My trouble is I have never done this sort of thing and I am not sure an electric fan blowing on my mill will generate enough power to light a bulb. I live in Florida were we don't get allot of wind; this is why I chose to use a household fan to give me some air. If this is not possible my brother did okay a battery that could be used as the blades turn it will charge the battery until I can power on the light.
  11. I have a bet going with my brother going on now for about 5 years. As you can tell I am an extreme procrastinator. The bet is that I can make a small windmill to generate enough electricity to power a light bulb (possibly a 60-100 watt household bulb). He is willing to pay for whatever I needed to make it plus $100 bucks. So I am familiar with electric side of this project but I am a complete idiot when it comes to anything mechanical which will entail some of the building part. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to get something done.
  12. What developments? Nothing has changed since we stopped this debate! Please take your own advice (post 12) and wait till the games are released before you make any more incriminating statements. You are saying the same thing as your first post, I have already replied to this. One thing I will add--it's interesting that you post a link about beyond3d that try’s to defend the position that they are not 'ATI-Fan-Boys'. Hmmm kind of makes me laugh. [edit] I got an email saying you replied to me, this is why I posted again. If this was not meant for me then please disregard. [edit]
  13. Would just like to add, I just purchased a Logitech MX310 and it is GREAT!
  14. Can't find roms anymore? Ever here of bit torrent--I get mine there. Geez do I always have to hold your hand?
  15. I never stated one being better than the other you seem to be the one making that claim. What I did show is that is untrue. They both are great graphics cards but the FX takes the lead if you consider 1-5% more FPS in a few games a lead. The real score is 50/50. I should also note that Doom III and HL are the only games to judge the performance of a graphics card--with very few exceptions. They are according to the game industry the best of the best. Even though as you have repeated 'they are not out yet'--any reputable benchmark like the ones I posted would use them. The game that is posted in the link you provided is one of the most unsuccessful game franchises in the genre. The page also doesn't elaborate on the actual settings that are tweakable in the console.
  16. I stand corrected, UT2003 is DX8.1 but I would also like to point out any reputable benchmark would show DoomIII or HL 2 which is the only standard worth showing. Fair Comparisons: http://www17.tomshardware.com/graphic/20030714/index.html http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.html?i=1821&p=1 This is a good one but I read the mag, their articles aren't posted on the webpage: www.maximumpc.com And both the NIVIDIA and ATI cards (the high end that is) will set you back about $499.
  17. I am well aware of the article, are you saying Doom III and UT2003 are not DX9 compliant? Using those games are benchmarks the FX cards are usually ahead by a few FPS.
  18. Which FX are you referring too? NVIDIA and ATI are pretty much neck and neck, there is not one better than the other. But if you truly want the most FPS (frames per second) than you would want to get the FX5900 Ultra card--sometimes by 10-20 fps. I am not sure how reliable your webpage is either, since it looks like they are using some sort of home brewed tweaking utility. Besides that if you really want a good comparison I suggest you look for benchmarks with the more advanced games--Doom III, UT 2003, and Splinter Cell.
  19. Frequency modulation (Love my radio) Superconductivity (My particle accelerator is bigger than your's) Radar (Important but boring for me) Lightning rod (Thanks Ben!) Elevator (I am lazy) Atomic bomb/Hydrogen bomb 'The genius of Einstein leads to Hiroshima.' -Pablo Picasso (1881 - 1973)
  20. http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/mars_history_030826.html As if executing a cosmic air kiss, Earth and Mars will come as close as they desire in the wee hours of Wednesday during an historical event that has captivated the attention of skywatchers around the globe. The two planets will be separated by 34,646,418 miles (55,758,006 kilometers) at 5:51 a.m. ET (1051 GMT) on Aug. 27. Sorry for the short notice, should have posted this sooner
  21. CAT scanner Fiberoptics Compact disc Artificial heart High temperature superconductors
  22. Magnifying glass Blood transfusion Electromagnet Fountain pen\Ballpoint pen (soon to be extinct) Nylon Transistor Light-emitting diode Just too many to name. We really do take everything for granted don't we?
  23. I don't understand what you are getting at. I might be misunderstanding so please explain it to me some more. As far as I understand it your negative matter is antimatter, I do not understand the difference. Antimatter is elementary particles that are the same as their corresponding particles but have opposite electrical charges or if no electric charge some other property related to electromagnetism... right? How can we have both a negative particle and antimatter? Aren't they the same thing?
  24. Thanks for the info but what I meant to say was when you identify which cell wall the bacteria has what does that tell us? Can we then identity harmful bacteria? Is this test performed on all bacteria? ps. Sorry for all the questions pps. Have any links with more info would be helpful too. All I can find is the definition.
