Is Extremism the Default for Faith?
If your life is not that great then any port in a storm. There is a reason why ex drug addicts and alcoholics find Jesus, and not because they decided to study scripture. Why did people buy into Trump? They believed his stories because they want a better life. Without being too blunt about it, I think lack of political, economic, awareness plays a part.

As usual? We have hardly had any interaction. Let's assume I was totally wrong and move on. New site and new thread. Can you explain this explicitly please? I was Christian when completing my UG. Try it out, I am open to different views and in your words "a hippy."

Is Extremism the Default for Faith?
No need to apologise as far as I am concerned. Extreme acts call for extreme viewpoints. This happened in my city this month. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cx2703lnww4t That's the dangerous part isn't it? Thinking you are absolutely correct because god tells you so in his book? This is where a lot of people got Dawkins wrong, he had no issues with religious people and debated with Rabbis, priests, Theologians, academics, theist philosophersand even the arch bishop of Canterbury at one point. All amicable, polite and respectful if a little heated at points. What he hated was religious people damaging science education not just because they believed in god. There is 40 years between his first book and first book on religion. He became famous because of the Selfish Gene, the camera liked him, obviously educated (Baliol) and he had a beautiful English accent so the BEEB gave him programs. Initially anyway he did not get into the god stuff till later. My approach is more Dawkins than Hitchens although my approach to the Koran is more hostile than to the NT and Judaism. Huh, not sure why the link does not work

A Methodological Challenge: Purging Physics of "Semantic Inflation"
Do you want me to pull it apart? I can do that if you prefer?

A Methodological Challenge: Purging Physics of "Semantic Inflation"
Steaming shit was a reference to your post's lack of hygiene.

A Methodological Challenge: Purging Physics of "Semantic Inflation"
No, I was attempting something else, humour. Are telling us that your post is not Ai generated?
-
A Methodological Challenge: Purging Physics of "Semantic Inflation"
I'm afraid I must concur with Exchemist. Your theory is definitely UNhygienic. Unhygienic in the sense that you have taken the English language, Ai mixed it up with some sciency words, then took a huge, steaming shit all over it.

And .....it does not work like that. This is a web platform not a private dinner party. If I want to respond to something I will.

Yes and I stand on that. Actually I called you a stupid man initially and was the fourth person to comment as such, on a thread YOU started denying the Holocaust. Start a thread here on it, see how it goes?

Don't be silly, I recognised you from another platform and teased you a bit that's all. Calm down, stop taking everyone on aggressively. What is it about the soul you want to say? Now, for you? Science is silent on the matter, no recent (last 100 years)published literature. I cited a "study" from the last century, was that the science community's last word? Thoughts?

The Tibetan cretins of the Himalayas should be attacked on a spiritual plane
You joined a science site and hour ago and this is what you respond to?

The Tibetan cretins of the Himalayas should be attacked on a spiritual plane
+1 agree. He got one from me.

You don't know what we know. The ancient Israelites certainly did not believe in a soul and Jesus of Nazareth did not think that either. The idea of a soul came later. This is known scholarship. Like I said perhaps we know some stuff. No we mean science cannot test the supernatural, science is agnostic on fairies too. Yeah, peer review and publication. Examples please.

My theory is that logic predates the universe
Humans invented logic. No, BB Cosmology is silent on T=0. Pop science says things like this but it is not part of mainstream BB Cosmology. That starts at around 10 ^-32 seconds after the BB.

About Consciousness
According to who? I do not think there is consensus in the physics community regarding that question.

The Dimensional Overlap Hypothesis: A Human-Scale Theory of Perceptual Shift, Cosmic Continuity, and the Veil of Perception - Proposed by Haroon Khan - independent observation of physics, perception, and universal continuity
A Question yes but not perception obviously, how can you perceive something when you have no idea what is going on? You gather data via observation and experiment THEN try and work out what is going on. Science is empirical.
