If I take a photo of an object from two different points of view, how can I compare the relative angle of the object to another object within both pictures? For example, if took a photo of railroad tracks while standing on the ground, the angle of one track to the other will appear to be greater than zero degrees. However, if I take the picture from a hot air balloon the tracks will appear to be parallel. Is there a way to show mathematically that the tracks did not move and that they were always the same angle relative to each other? Thanks for any help.

Hi, I am a final yr student doing my project, I earlier posted on wanting to design an intranet for my school... I had some answers but I need more help on details and technology. This is how the project is all about: Our school is a multi-campus university, It has four campuses in three different regions with the campuses an average of 150km apart. what i really want to do is design individual LANs for each campus (preferably wireless), then interconnect them. I also want to design an intranet system where files can be shared, meetings can be held on-line and other stuff. The help i need from the forum is, if anyone can help me out with detailed advice on how the…

I'm reading a book on DSP, and they say that there are discrete and continuous kinds of signals. I can imagine some discrete signals, but i have no idea of what could a continuous signal be. Can you suggest some?

Hi all, Involved in many projects at the moment & I've had a mental block with this algorithm. Here's the source code, I'm trying to compare the keys in my Hashtable and the values in the array and if the "words" appear in both data structures to produce a result, but the line for line algorithm is really messing with my head: public void addBook(String filename) throws IOException { String[] linearray; String line; try { File b = new File(filename); BufferedReader fileread = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(b)); in = new Scanner(b); while(in.hasNextLine()) { line = fileread.re…

I'd like to mimic or emulate in a normal webpage how some of forums tags work if you click on them. For example, the "hide" tags in forums work by hiding a select amount of information on the page, which the reader can then expand/collapse by a simple mouse click. How would you enable that same action on a non-forums webpage? Or, some forums reveal an image if you mouse-over a word, and it disappears after you no longer mouse-over that word. I'm not looking to start a forums, it'll be a typical website using some handy forums operations.

When you search on IxQuick, the search results have a proxy version of the webpage that you can visit. It'll protect you from malicious scripts trying to install viruses or run on your computer from the website, because (I presume) you're viewing through IxQuick's servers. But how does it protect itself from the malicious stuff?

Hi, I am new to computer science and am having a hard time understanding assembly language programming. I have an assignment to write an Pep/8 assembly language program to output my first and last name on the output device using direct addressing with a .ASCII pseudo-op. She gave us an example on a powerpoint, but I don't understand it. CHARO 0x000D,d CHARO 0x000E,d CHARO 0x000F,d CHARO 0x0010,d STOP ; ----- SOD ----- .ASCII “KimT" .END I know that direct addressing means I will be fetching the character stored in the location specified. What I don't understand is where the numbers come from. 0x000D = K? I know that they are w…

Hi Eveyrone I'm a final year cs student just doing project about behavioural targeting. My task is to create a tool that will show flow of user information related to targeted advertising. My initial approach is for the plugin to scan http headers as they always include body and name of the cookies and to scan javascript of the website. The cookies usually contain details such as past browsing history(keywords, logins, website addresses), etc. For this, I'll use a compiler and regex to scan the body of cookies and script and show parsed content with comments to the user, e.g. "you have been assigned with the following user ID on website X. It has collected …

Hi everyone. I'm new to these forums and just thought I'd put this on the boards. I've recently become a big fan of the artificial intelligences and I've wanted to develop a program that could mimic human intelligence as the Turing test was designed for. The Turing test had an observer, who would have a conversation (like in MSN chat) with a human and a machine but didn't know which was which. The machine has to behave human and use language in the same way. I don't think any machine has successfully fooled the observer completely though. I can imagine it being hard enough just to create a program that can form proper sentences! Let alone have its own opinions about t…
