Light 360?

Featured Replies

Would it be possible for one or more cases of successive gravitational lensing to direct light back towards its source?

It may require a black hole to do this, but yes it is possible that some light would be sent back to the source (that's 180º by the way).

This is the nearest reference I could find: http://apod.nasa.gov/htmltest/gifcity/gotops.html

"A photon could leave the back of your head, go once around the black hole, and be seen by your eye - you can see the back of your head."
