The objects found may be evidence of life, but the evidence is inconclusive. Even if they are the remains of once living organisms, contamination by terrestrial forms cannot be ruled out in some of the instances. But there are also more mundane explanations for the observations.

We need something much more solid than what has been turned up so far before we can have any high level confidence in the positive conclusions. However, it is good that some researchers continue to look for evidence, given the huge significance if they find it.
