How to get more into Physics?

Featured Replies

First off I am home schooled so don't bother saying I should focus on my current school work before I decide to jump in because I have tons of free time. Now, I am 15 years old and want to get more into Physics then I currently am. I would eventually like to end up studying Quantum Mechanics or Astrophysics, Yes these things are far off but the earlier I start the more likely I am to be better at it and find out sooner if I will like this for a long time. Thanks :)

I would say go to school/college and study physics aimed at people 16-18. In the UK that would be A-levels. I don't know where you are from, but I am sure you have something similar where you are. Another option is to study online, PM me if you are interested in that route.

And if you want to get started now you could get an A Level (or equivalent) text book, beg, borrow, or buy and start working through it in your own time.

Just make sure you get a solid foundation in the basics before trying to go after QM, etc. Those textbooks are based on having the classical physics pretty well understood.
