Can someone tell me how to link a word in a post to a url, it's not the same in this new software? When I click on "link" icon in the posting UI and then click "Link to anchor in text" and put the url in it says "no anchors available in document". How to create an anchor?

"Link to anchor in text" means "link to an anchor I have placed earlier in this post". That's not what you want. Choose URL.

 

If you want to make a particular word or phrase into a link, type it out and select it before pressing the button.

The new software seems to have omitted part of the old window for adding a link to a post, specifically the bit that allowed you to type in a description for the link. Just doing a bit of testing, it seems this can be overcome by simply high lighting whatever word you want the link to appear as, clicking the add link button and inserting the URL.

Yes that's it. Thanks. The URL is not shown in the input box next to your link word now whereas it was before.

It's different from before but just as useful. You can unlink by using the broken chain-link in the next tot he right icon - did we have that before; I do remember getting horribly messed up with links I was trying to delete.
