Hallucinate the Devil

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've come across a way of inducing hallucinations of mythical/demonic beings which I am interested in from a psychological perspective. I have made a corny video with instructions on how to do it:

I'm interested in sparking some debate about why the effect is so extreme - I have narrowed it down to a four stage process:

1. The optical illusion caused by fading visual input:

Check this out it is also cool

http://en.wikipedia....xler%27s_fading

2. With the lack of visual input the facial processing components of the brain override perception allowing the distortion of facial features in the image

3. Pulling an evil face causes the facial perception distortion to view a demonic face - Theoretically enhanced by the fear centre of the brain (the Amygdala).

4. The fact you are looking at a reflection of yourself means that you are aware of the consciousness of the reflection in the same way that you are aware of your own consciousness. You are also aware that your own face is not demonic so you experience a deep sense of evil 'otherness' which has a conscious link to you.

I wondered if the effect was as strong for other people and if you agree with the stages I have identified.

Let me know what you think please.

I usually think of demons as very good looking people who are good at lying and manipulating you because of their good looks and charm. I.e. salespeople of sin and evil deeds. The most effective demon is convincingly disguised as an angel with angelic intentions. I'm not sure how this relates to your ideas in posting this thread. If it gets you off-track, just ignore this post.

I strongly suspect that my food/drink is being laced with a drug! I went to the dr, they did a test for 7 illegal drugs. It came back negative. I suspect it is a strong prescription medication, a sedative. I live in the south of england. where can i get a comprehensive test done to identify the chemical being added? Price is an issue i can afford around £100. This is obviously a serious problem, so any help is greatly appriciated.

I read an article in the 'Muenchener Medizinische Wochenschrift' sometime around 1986 or 1987 which discussed rare cases of childhood schizophrenia. A typical feature of such patients is that they see people's faces as transformed into vulpine form, complete with fangs, wild hair, and predator facial expression. It is interesting that they preferentially hallucinate these images rather than other distortions, and that the images children drew of what they perceived looked like cinematic wolfmen. Since schizophrenia according to some theorists represents the uncovering of various primitive brain features, I wonder if this preferential hallucination of wolf faces picks up on some instinctive phobia in humans of predatory animals (or Neanderthals)?
