peltier

mion'']Is it possible to have a peltier device that was around 5-15*C on the hot side and maybe just below 0*C on the cold side? If yes, what size would it be, and how much power would I require?

The hot side of the peltier device has to be hotter than the surroundings (and the cold side colder) in order to be able to transfer heat. The temperatures you achieve will be in relation to the ambient temperature rather than some absolute.

The amount of power depends on how big the device is and how much heat transfer is going on.

also when you stack them you need to go down in size everytime as the each one can only take so much heat away.

eg 4cm2 then 3cm2 the 2cm2 1cm2 and you will get a nice cold side then.

as i say water cooling the hot side is a must, works great. as air cooling is just not up to the job.
