Is Space vacuum (empty)

Space is mostly vacuum (empty) ,no gas present or we can say any form of is not present ,but can we say that space is not empty but has some thing that is beyond our understanding because we can travel in space it means it is some kind of medium .

I think that all, for the most part, all matter is pulled in by the gravity of SOME object, meaning that there really can't be a special kind of medium in space. This medium would have to have a hell of gravitation force of its own to counter the force of the other celestial bodies.

A Vacuum isnt empty there are a number of 'virtual particles' which are infact electrons that dont exist until a photon interacts with one to produce an electron (and due to paulis exclusion priniciple); a positron. Well thats what I understand of QED anyway....
