Low boiling point liquid, 25-03C

Featured Replies

Is there such a thing with such a low boiling point that isnt toxic?

If there is, I haven't heard about it.

is a periodic table with boiling points and symboll only, the boiling points are in kelvin not centigrade though, but its a simple conversion rate of:

celcius = kelvin - 273.15

273.15 is approx, it is the value of absolute zero to two decimal places.

Thanks for that, but it wasnt what i was looking for.

Which substance would boil at 20-35C but I' not bothered about being toxic, lol.

none, if you look at that table the number is the boiling point, as you can see none boil at that temeperature, which works out as 293 - 308 Kelvin [the measurement on that link]

I could have answered it right away if you're looking a pure element that does that. But it seems that you want ANY liquid compound that boils at that temp?

Yeah I'm not wanting a pure element.

Hmmm... Hydrocarbons have fairly low boiling points. Hey by the way, how pentane can be a gas in room temperature if it's boiling point is 35 Celsius? Does it have something to do with pressure?

Petroleum ether (which isn't an ether at all) has boiling points varying from 20-75C.

Yes you can find a whole load of hydrocarbons that satisfy your needs. Look at any homologous series and you'll observe a gradual increase in boiling point from a few 10's in negative degree celsius to a few hundreds. Surely you'll come across certain members that fit your need.

Yeah it will be at normal atmospheric pressure, any one got a link to a chart of hydrocarbons or know of anything in particular?

  • Author

Update got a chart,

so do you need any more information about hydrocarbons or anything else?

  • Author

Not for the time being. :)

Yep thats the one I looked at, now finding a seller is not going to be easy, is there anything else that will work just this? I know some guy used ammonia xxxxx to do the same thing.
