Yesterday, I visited a store with all sorts of furniture/painting related stuff. I couldn't locate any aluminum in the paint section. In which sort of painting it's used? I have a hunch that it's used in boat painting, but I'm not too sure.

 

I did buy myself some nice transparent-plastic coated copperwires for electric ignition, though.

yes, boat painting. find a WEST MARINE store, they will have it. its like...400+ mesh, but it'll work.

is a west marine shop an american company or is it international because i would like to get hold of some aluminium powder

speaking of aluminum powder...i'm getting some of the ultrafine 2 micron particle sized german imported dark aluminum dust among other chems from unitednuclear in a few weeks. order went out with the mail today

how is it being shipped? alum powder is hazmat. ups charges 20 dollars per order. but the us postal service(usps) will do this order for free, as long as its under a certain limit.(lbs)

Hazmat = HAZzardous MATerial, for those unsure.

Have you guys seen pyroaluminum.com? Thats where I go to get my aluminum. They only sell in 2 pound incriments though ( sucks ) I just wait a couple day an order again. 2 micron, Great stuff.

i hadnt heard of it until today. they sell for about half the price of unitednuclear's german dark aluminum. good stuff
