Technology Forum

Featured Replies

What about a technology forum, i know that there is an egineering forum but, it has been used to comment about stuff, my real suggestion, is about proyects, like water rockets, but thinking about proposing things that may be usefull.

The main reason, is that i have been seing, that we talk about this and that, argue and stuff.. but.. why dont build something that can let us make something more usefull and productive.

apart from the jokes section.

For example i have been seem the lastest Dave posts, and he gives nice stuff on math to think about... then why dont do the same about technology.

Well it is only a suggestion.

Why not post them in the Engineering forum? Or are you suggesting that the readers of SF.N are so braindead that they can't do anything there isn't specifically a forum for?

Yes... That’s exactly what he was suggesting. 'Technology' still doesn’t seem to fit anymore than engineering though.

I think that there should be a tech sectio containing forums like robotics, programing, computer hardware, and computer software

Shut your hole unless you have something productive to say. Or at least say it nicely

At some point in the future we might be so busy that we need to open more forums to make moderation feasible. Not yet though.

As long as we don't limit what "technology" is. It's not just going to be about computers and robots - it has to be about all technology.

We just condensed a load of forums down so it made it easier for people to decide where to put things. However, it's quite apparent that a lot of the hobby stuff gets posted on here, and most of it does end up in the Engineering section. Perhaps convert (as in, change the name) the engineering forum over to a Hobby Science Project-type forum?

A technology forum won't get many posts, because virtually any thread about technology will be the natural child of a discipline we already have a forum for.

What I'm describing isn't really a Technology forum, more of a science-based hobbyist forum (e.g. for posts like the rocket thread, many of YT's experiments, etc) of which there are quite a few around.
