Injecting Ion Int human body

Featured Replies

If you where to inject Ion (oxygen) (negative charged) into the human body more specificity body cells would this cause cellular processes to shut down such as the electron transport chain in respiration.

Which ones , and how long.

No, not even for a moment. Cells are teeming with H+ and -OH ions - these would react with the oxygen ion before it did anything else (remember, cells are mostly water)

Didn't think about that.

Presuming the theory is correct.

Would there be anyway to stop cellular process this way but with another element.

Sure, 5,3g of lead shaped in a specific shape will do it.

If it has to be ions, a few 100's of grams of KCl will do it.

About 1000 times less KCN will do it too.

Come to think of it, the only way to inject just oxide ions into someone would be to put them in the path of a particle accelerator. Given time that would shut down their cell chemistry too.

The easiest way to shut down someone's cell reactions is to wait. Typically 100 years will do the job. It has the remarkable (in most cases, unique,) advantage of being legal.
