Why do my eyes keep skipping?

Featured Replies

Exactly as my topic says, when i'm reading a book.. and im going along a line.. my eye would suddenly skip, either backwards or forwards a few words, .. the thing is, i can actually.. feel my eyes skip.. and i dont do it on purpose...and for some reason, i have to go back =/ and re-read it.. it's very annoying..

btw, i have 20/20 vision

wonder if this is right forum

You eyes skip over the text anyway when reading. They can only read stuff that they are stationery too. They must just be skipping too far. Try using a guide. Something thin so it doesn't iterfere with the text, like a pencil. It's best to move the guide across the page smoothly at about the pace your reading rather than skipping it along. This will keep your eyes in place and improve your reading speed.

EDIT:.. found out why, i'm sleep deprived from homework

you are having too much distraction this may be due to too much tension or may be you eye muscles are having problem in nerve supply or any one of your eye is too much weak.

Hmm. maybe your eyes are a little too used to skimming. *shrugs*

As Bryn said, try using a guide. ;)

It could very well be tiredness...your eye muscles are "twitching" possibly due to erratic nerve stimulus or whatever...have a visit to an optician just to check but I'll bet that's what it is. Sleep deprivation will do that stuff to you ;)
