It's Star Trek. I don't expect reality. What I do expect is science fiction.

The one thing that bugged me was when the Romulans went back in time, Romulus, the planet, still existed and the star hadn't gone supernova yet. So, instead of going on a planet destroying spree, why didn't they use that red matter to destroy the star that was going to go supernova? After all, the Romulans have master interstellar travel. They should have been able to put that together.

BS pangloss, the death star is so slow and awkward the enterprise would run rings around it and photon torpedo it to itsy bitsy pieces The empire doesn't even have subspace fields, how silly is that u-tube video, really? Just transport a photon torpedo into the death star and boom! no more death star, just like shooting klingons back home!

The Emperor would have foreseen that.

That bugged me too. You'd think that saving the Homeworld would be a bit higher in their priorities.

Er, wouldn't that solution be just as bad as what actually happened? :)

That's what Spock was trying to do. Use the red matter to destroy the star before it blew.
