Hey guys.

I'm needing to buy a large culture of the malarial parasite, i.e. any one of the following:

-Plasmodium vivax

-Plasmodium falciparum

-Plasmodium malariae

-Plasmodium ovale

Does anyone know where such a purchase could be made online?

I am hearing for the first time that malarial parasite would be sold online. I don't think so because when purshing them one can't actually tell their intentions as to why they want it to the seller in a way that is ok with the sellers. Anyway, if there is a slighest chance why not google it.

While you can get those strains they are all biosafety level 2 and you need to sign a MTA. If you work in such a lab I am certain that you should know where you can get them. If you are not, you should not get them.

Sometimes I worry that "big brother" might read these threads; sometimes I hope he does.

It is not the reading per se that I am worried about. Actually I wonder if one should close this thread.

well, it definitely triggers the hazmat rules as it concerns purchasing material where special training would be required if handling in a lab. i think from charony's comments that it is somewhat restricted which also swings me in favour of closing it. another reason i think that is that it is his one and only post.

I think everything has been said about the options available: be in such a position that you already have an access protocol, or don't try.
