What precisely do you mean? Positions in the industry for PhD holders, or industry funded positions for graduate students?

The latter are normally in collaboration with local universities. Also, in which country?

I'll move this to science education.

I've heard of such a thing for post-docs, but not grad school.

I've heard of industrial funded PhD scholarships in Australia.

It depends on the country, a bit. In the USA grad school is, in the first years at least, still very much like school. In contrast, in Germany after the master you immediately start with a project, which then may be funded by a company. In

some cases the research is even done within the company (with a university guy as supervisor). Downside is that not everything is allowed to be published, except basic research.
