Can anybody help me with how I would turn manure into paper?..Can it be a purely organic process?

manure tends not to have too much cellulose in it.

you need to have cellulose to make paper as that is its main constituent.

Indeed. I can imagine that some manure, like horse poo, can contain some fibres that can be turned into paper... but I would suggest that you throw it on the land, plant some seeds and wait 20 years until you get some decent trees.

Paper making is not purely organic. Additives are used to increase strength (or, related to that, to dissolve and remove some unwanted substances, like lignin). Also, to make paper white, you'll need some additives. I'm sure wikipedia has info about it.

Can I ask: why do you want to make poo-paper? (And isn't it faster to simply clean your used toilet paper)??

My question too. What is the purpose of this paper, to write on, to wrap things with, to wipe more poo on or something else? At a certain point, your market for such a product is going to be very limited, even if you're the only one using it. How much effort would need to go into making such a product inoffensive enough to use?

You may be able to take certain types of fibrous kitchen waste (corn husks, perhaps?) and grind it up in water to form a slurry. Spread the slurry out onto a screen, squeeze mostly dry, and allow to air dry. It would probably be more like cardboard, than paper...

Good morning

Thank you for your replies.

The ultimate object is for the stable yard to be self-suficient by producing recycled horse poo bedding!

As far as additives I was hoping to produce as natural product as possible, but increasing fibre strength and absorption is priority...any ideas?

Thank you so much for the links

You may be able to get away with just washing, sterilizing, and drying, if all you want is bedding.
